Although that in itself is interesting, that Connor would automatically become captain if Burnham merely disappeared. Doesn't seem in the Imperial Starfleet's wheelhouse to let him have the captaincy without him actually having killed her in open combat.

He didn't automatically become the captain; he fought others for it -- as he states in the episode Despite Yourself. He couldn't kill MU Burnham for it because she was already dead. Therefore, PU Burnham showing up was a total surprise.

To refresh your memory, watch DY from about the 40 minute point.

Connor calls PU Burnham "Captain" and salutes her when she beams aboard the ISS Shenzhou.

Don't forget John Hurt and John Rhys-Davies. This was the first show I'd seen any of these people in.

And those are just the ones who made it big on this side of the pond. Sian Phillips' Livia is one of the all-time great screen villains, but she made her career in British TV rather than chasing the Hollywood bucks. Still makes, I should say, since she's still active at 87.
Totally agree, I enjoy re-watching that show, and still being surprised at how far the show went.

Sorbo is just an ultra Christian now and the reason he can't get work is because of his beliefs apparently. It has nothing to do that he is a substandard actor that is literally known for Hercules and driving Andromeda into the ground after he won the power struggle.
And once people started taking him to task for his Twitter feed, he now claims he has nothing to do with it and his teenage son posts everything on Kevin Sorbo's Twitter account; and he himself doesn't really look at it much.:wtf:

(Of course in the same interview I read where Kevin Sorbo stated that, when the interviewer asked him about certain things; lo and behold, his statements in the interview pretty much matched his statements on Twitter.:thumbdown:)

Well, there is the occasional christian propaganda movie like God is not Dead...

Hey, even a macho like Kirk got teary-eyed a few times!

NU-Kirk even sobs once.
You've missed out on the dudebros here complaining non-stop about Burnham crying, whether it actually happened or not. Check out the last few episode threads.

Even though, dare I say it, they've been crying about DSC since Day One. And stomping their feet about not getting their way.

I agree. There’s no reason they needed full face masks for the Orions. They really do look plastic and horrible.

OK I had another look.. Why did they do that? They never did that in Enterprise with the Orions or any other Trek with Orions. Why do that now?

There were Orions serving in Starfleet in ST 2009

Aren't some of the Orions just green makeup with digitally-enhanced skin texture to make them look smoother and more unnblemished?

Seeking opinions. I live with a Burnham hater. He hates the character, well, actually all of the characters. I like the character and the show, possible that is influenced by my liking the actress. I think SMG is fabulous and I like that she has the same initials as Sarah Michelle Gellar a.k.a Buffy.

In the scene where mirror Burnham is confronted, I think she portrays crazy very well. I feel like I have conversation with prime versions of that crazy regularly at work and at home. She is deranged and lost.

My Burnham hater says it was a 12 year old high school production performance.

Opinions? I think I have been trapped at home for too long.

I'd watch the show while he's not around, if possible. If not, if I were you, I'd tell him off hard and tell him to let me watch the show in peace and I'll let him watch whatever he likes in peace.

I accidentally posted, the question was actually about the acting in a scene
