At first I thought he was a Bajoran, with that big-ass D'jarra earring and I thought, woah! Bajorans can be hosts too??

OK, first I haven't read through the entire thread, but I am very happy to see how the voting for this episode is going here. Not getting the best of ratings on IMDB. I was scratching my head.
In my opinion this is the best Trek episode since Dr. Phlox was kidnapped by Klingons in Enterprise.
Personally, I am not that big of a Discovery fan. It has things I think are great, like all the interesting characters, and I love the updated alien races. But overall, it wasn't firing on all cylinders for me. I didn't feel the emotion when Burnham and Discovery were reunited. Even though it was over a year, it was only an episode to fans, and we didn't see the struggle that Burnham may have faced surviving that year. So the dramatic scenes were lost on me. But Forgot Me Not was fantastic. It gives you that emotional attachment to the characters that you need to keep watching. This episode did that with many of the cast, and of course Adira is a wonderful new addition.

Fascinating look into Trill society, and the effects of the Burn.
Teared up twice during that episode...
And Ronnie being the Trill Queen was icing on the cake.

I've been rewatching Season 3 and just saw this one again.
I would say not only is it one of my favorite episodes of the series, it is one of my favorites in all of Trek.
The whole thing with Adira on Trill was so powerful and moving. I teared up again when they met the previous hosts: "Welcome to the circle."
Still a 10.
Same here, best of the show so far. I already choked when Gray gets the blanket and realizes it shows their story, and when he appears behind the rest of the circle, I couldn't stop shaking. One of the most powerful episodes in the franchise, and really well done as well.
Solid 8 still and one of my favourites as well.
Finally got back to my DVD set, during my fall vacation (my first real vacation in two years).
I was far too busy during my six days and nights in San Francisco to even unpack my portable DVD player: ironing my clothes and getting to bed Saturday night, after the long train ride; church and a San Francisco Symphony matinee on Sunday; various museum ships, the Cartoon Art Museum, and dinner with relatives on Monday; Golden Gate Park and dinner at the House of Prime Rib on Tuesday; the Bookbinders' Museum, the Exploratorium, and 42nd Street Moon's production of Sondheim's A Little Night Music on Wednesday; and more museums and an evening concert with the SF Symphony on Thursday.
And all the while, chewing through the first volume of the Coda trilogy.
I didn't have time to get out the DVD player until Saturday, in Sacramento, and I'd forgotten where I'd left off, re-watching "People of Earth" before moving on to the present opus.
I enjoyed my re-watch of "People of Earth" over a dinner of take-out food in my hotel room. The visit to the Trill homeworld. Saru's recognition that the crew had become dysfunctional. The dysfunctions within Trill society, the one Trill guardian willing to buck orders to help, and the pool experience. I gave it a 9. And there is so much that has already been said, I can't really find much to add.
