I tend not to watch until the next day due to being in UK.

Not a fan of the buttons , even touch screens are common in our time and buttons outdated. Forget the canon mafia, its not 1966!
To expect a world to have no technological progress in 900 to 1000 years makes no sense at all. The population should be in the hundred millions if not billions, everyone won't still be following their one world religion.
Sarek and Amanda showing up really pushed credibility. I think some kind of mind talk would've made more sense. It also would be less likely that Control would follow them.

I publicly commented because that's what we as mods are supposed to do when we receive a notification. You are not supposed to continue to create a disruption when asked to stop. This should have been a simple request to stop and done.
My understanding may be flawed, but I was of the understanding that Georgiou had access to the Defiant in the Mirror Uni and I completely believe she would have had all information about the 'alternate' universe funneled to her. And I figured Defiant would probably have logs of what happened with Kirk and CO about what happened where they coined said phrases Prime/Mirror. I mean, Defiant disappearing happened after Kirk and Co went there, right? So that is where she is getting the terminology from. They just don't know it, yet.
Also on another note, I just figured Burnham had that conversation with him explaining everything which is why he knows what Georgiou is talking about here. I don't see it as a nod to fans or anything. Of course I'm one of those who doesn't need everything written and acted out on screen. My mind is happy to fill in said blank spots. I used to write fanfiction so that's probably why though.
I liked the episode, and it went pretty fast. It had no surprises though. I kinda figured this was going to happen from that one clip of Pike with Xahea up in the background. Just by his tone of voice. And as usual, I ADORE Spock. That was a real surprise for me this season as I was so skeptical of a new Spock, but I love Peck's portrayal. I still think he steals every scene he is in.
I'm really holding out hope for a Pike and crew series.
Leaving aside any number of early lukewarm reactions posted in those first 5-20 pages, can we not do the thing where enjoying something equals a lack of critical thinking? What's interesting about critical thinking is that it doesn't imply a positive or negative orientation to information. You can both positively critique and negatively critique media. Equating negatively critical comments with critical thinking would be inaccurate.
I think we're meant to think that it was Culber who was causing the damage, especially as he came out when the Disco passed through.
1) And let Control ravage the entire Federation? Not really Pike's style. They're trying to act quickly. And that's a pretty weak guarantee; Control can simply follow them.
2) How? The sphere IS the ship now. It's not going to Starbase if it doesn't want to.
3) How? The sphere could surely prevent this.
4) The ship could just warp away.

Thing is, I think Saru was ready before the transformation, but not so much now. As for Reno, yeah, I was getting that vibe about her dying too.

I read that James Cawley provided the candy buttons for the new E bridge, plus molds so they could make more. 
1) 30 ships vs 7000, Control isn't going to do shit to the Federation as a whole. And Control doesn't have a spore drive or the ability to get through the galactic barrier. So they jump the ship below the galactic plane and into the galactic void and there's literally no way Control will ever find them because we are talking a microscopic needle in a billion lightyear sized haystack.
2) Then you don't tell the ship you are going destroy the computer core after pulling it.
3) Being in the ship doesn't give it magic powers. Unless they beam the torpedo directly to the vessels transporter pad using Discovery's own transporter it won't know what's being beamed over until it materializes. At which point it's too late because the Torpedo would have detonated.
4) And the Enterprise can follow all the while shooting it.
5) Except it's too late because you already shot the warp core and the ship exploded.
To reiterate, being in the ships system does not give it magic and or psychic powers.

No. It was the fact Stamets LEFT Culber behind in the network for 9 months. Culber was what was 'killing' the lifeforms in the Network because he wouldn't let them kill/convert him. Once he was removed, the Network was fine.
Nobody knows about that barrier yet.
I kinda feel they missed the ball with this one too. Real world predators generally hate taking risks that might result in them getting injured, hence why they will always try to target young, sick or weak animals. It would have been an interesting take to see Saru become some type of aggressive coward and have to work to overcome that.
