Spoilers Star Trek: Discovery 2x13 - "Such Sweet Sorrow" New Photo

Including Harry Mudd’s one? Wonder if control will go after his android tech. Seems pretty advanced for 23rd century...

I'm not convinced Mudd's Short Trek is concurrent with DSC. Beards grow back. That it follows an escape from the android planet and is post-"I, Mudd" seems pretty plausible to me, especially given one of the android is wearing the Mudd I outfit.

The UT doesn't do metaphors.

I dunno...

The words "Shaka, when the walls fell" were translated just fine, but their contextual meaning was not. Similarly the words "Xaheans were born with our planet. Born at the same time. Grew up at the same time" might have been translated just fine, but not the metaphorical context of the words.

In that case, the planet being "born" might refer to being manufactured, possibly by a super-advanced race. Granted, I do NOT think this is the case here, but it is certainly possible in the Star Trek universe.

I dunno why everyone's making a big deal about it.
Just read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolutionary_history_of_life
If Earth is 4.5 Billion years old and "life" started as early as 4.2 Billion years ago, there is only 300 million year period with no life at all. Now imagine a planet that while forming was hit by meteors with some microbial life on them. It's in theory conceivable that life started on that planet at same time as the planet was "born" (formed). If that microbial life evolved much quicker than on Earth (not taking detours for trilobites and dinosaurs and such) then the Xaheans might very well consider they were born at same time with the planet.
I am all for it. This is what Star Trek is all about. Discovering new civilization and learning how they view their place within the universe.

This is where I place The Escape Artist chronologically as well (after I, Mudd).

I would agree that it’s not only about aliens, but also alien ideas, alien origins, and all things that challenge us to expand beyond what’s familiar. Radically different origins is an intriguing concept.

The clues could point to this being pre-"I, Mudd" as well, though. Mudd would find this android planet at some point in the 2250s, make use of it in his assorted schemes, and then return to it when he needed another grand escape (it's never made clear how he escaped after "Mudd's Women", even though Kirk directly asks him).

His androids in the short are declared "cheap" and break down easily. But so does Norman, eventually... It doesn't hold a candle to Ruk, say.

Po is the Queen of her planet.
I'm sure that has something to do with her stating that she and the planet are intermingled in some way.
Perhaps the Royal Family lineage was created when the planet was somehow?
