As for Nahn, her feed cut out while she was fighting with Ariam, so nobody on Discovery knew what was going on, and they probably all assumed she was dead.
It was disappointing that we finally got some development for Ariam only for them to kill her. It was nice to her Tilly, Detmer, and Owo all hanging out together off duty, we haven't gotten anywhere enough of that kind of stuff.
Loved the stuff with Burnham and Spock, the chess scene was especially great.
The flight through the minefield was pretty exciting.
I did not expect the twist with Control being the big bad at all.

There was a on-going theme with The Walking Dead. Whenever an ancillary character got character development in an episode, they were dead by the end of the episode. Well, that was Airiam. She is a cipher to me. The moment at the end, where everyone reacted to her death, I feel was not earned for them or for the audience.

I was not surprised at seeing Nhan being the one who killed Airiam. I have seen a similar sequence of events in other films and television shows.

What’s with the stupid camera spinning effects? This isn’t Batman.
Isnt cuddleskot a Delta Quadrant game?
I thought Control was at Memory Alpha?

You're trying too hard. Just enjoy the episode. If something genuinely bad pops up, it won't be this.

And spinning cameras have been a thing in Discovery since the beginning. Just be glad you're not watching it in an omni-theater or a planetarium.

While I would have liked to have seen a little more previous development on Airiam myself, I reject the notion that the impact of her death is lessened due to the lack thereof.

Lal? Edith Keeler? Tuvix? Sim? Amin Maritza? All done-in-one characters whose deaths had powerful emotional impact on the audience. In me, at least.

Because those characters were developed naturally. What they did to Airiam is like cramming for the final exam because you were too lazy to study for that entire week prior to it.

Based on tonight's episode it seems like Section 31 (at least their AI) will be the bad guys in the Red Angel arc. It may explain why they go underground. And if that happens then section 31 will be more like the DS9 version on the new S31 series with Georgiou.

For those watching the Canadian broadcast, did they show the preview for next week? I was watching on the Amazon CBS AllAccess ‘channel’ and they just had the near silent credits. Could someone describe the preview?
