I wish I could re-rate, I meant to give it a 7. Not as good as last week or episode 1.

They mentioned Control. Could that be THE Control?
If so it’s doing a very bad job keeping it secret in this iteration. :)

Control was also the name of the head of S31 in the novels, coincidentally.

Jet Reno and Number one in the next episode.

Tilly's ghost was creepy. The actress is really good in that role. Too bad we may not see her again.

The same actor who played Kol was playing the father. I recognized the voice.

I am afraid they are going to f*ck up the Spock story line somehow. Has he become a psychopath and Burnham somehow fixes him?

Gotta be honest: when Control was mentioned, my head jerked up out of surprise.

    Same here

I don’t think he actually killed anyone, I think S31 broke him out.

Hang on? Wasn't the Vulcan High Command dissolved? What's Amanda bringing it up for?

I’m highly disturbed by Starfleet officers dressed up like black op nazi’s and interfering with other goverments, sanctioned by Starfleet or not. I’m not the ends justify the means type of guy and I can’t understand giving a series to section 31

Is it me or did the S31 ship look a lot like the long range shuttle seen in the Motion Picture?
I was expecting a more Vengeance looking ship.

As awful as the idea is, the suggestion that they fucked is about the only thing that would feel like it was worth all the build up. Not that I'm rooting for that outcome – I'm not – but, you're right, there's probably nothing they can give us that'll feel satisfying after all the tap-dancing.

Vulcan High Command was first mentioned in one of 24th century series, so I guess it was reformed at some point

I'd say yes and no. Maybe Pike wants to train more officers so that they're command-ready. I'm guessing Lorca didn't want too many command-ready officers on the ship who'd challenge him. Pike, on the other hand, wouldn't be worried about someone challenging him, but he'd like to give Starfleet some future Captains in the making.

They tricked me there with the captain. I thought she was talking about Kirk, not Stanmets.

Judging by the size of the windows, it's kind of the opposite. This Section 31 ship is really small. Not much more than brigde/crewquaters with nacelles.

Now, they are adding a loony-bin artificial intelligence program, created within the Federation and antagonistic to the values of the Federation, into the canon Star Trek. :censored:

    (Info on CONTROL: Control_(program))

About Spock, he suffered from a major trauma, which resulted in a PTSD, according to his medical files. Another clue to the mystery box?
