This idea that they shave their head during war is so stupid. By that logic they should always be bald.

    Maybe it’s her ring tone.

Klingon stuff has always been dark in Star Trek

No, because they’re not always at war.

It is stupid but whatever excuse that works to get them having hair again, I'm all for. It's better than more genetic engineering bullshit.

The two sentences Burnham and Tyler shared about it are all I ever want to hear about it onscreen again.

This was such a roller coaster of emotions. Loved it. Season 2 so far is 3 for 3 with all three being very different which is a great thing!

It could just be my personal biases about not being interested in Klingons and Section 31. I could not give less of a shit about Klingons in not only Discovery, but also Klingons in every other incarnation of Trek. Section 31 can just die in a fire, I hate the idea from the get go.

Seven drops of red blood in the sky is a bad omen? I thought Klingon blood was purple?

Only in ST6. It’s red in the TV shows.

Is she looking for Kirk? Could there be a time travel element?

Now that I know what's going on with Tilly, her over-the-topness this season is easier to take.

I have greatly enjoyed the season so far--I gave tonight's episode an 8, more because it feels like a bridge to several major storylines.

Anyone else think the son of L'Rell and Voq is the Albino?

    3/10 (and that's being generous)

While last week felt like a return to traditional Star Trek, this episode was unmistakably STD.

All the ugliness of STD s1 was back in full force.

    Negatives:

    - All the Klingorc stuff. This was complete, freaky edge-lord nonsense. Severed baby heads included.

    - L'Rell = terrible. They referenced the male Rape stuff from season one, but even consensual relations with L'Rell should be considered male rape. What a horrid beast. Hair does not help these Klingorcs. They all look like they have tumors for faces, yikes.

    - The Burnham/Tyvoc/L'Rell love triangle, plus the drama of a secret baby... right out of The CW.

    - Tilly and the Command Training Program. Seems her 'goal to be Captain' will sadly be a weekly thing. Amused that she managed to beat a bunch of in-shape officers in the race. All her athletic training must be paying off..

    - Tilly and the spore nonsense. The return of the awkward guest actress. So this is how they are setting things up to bring Culber back. Potentially as some type of spore being. Should be funny.

    - Section 31. My guess about this being in line with 2016 Suicide Squad seems to be on point. A team for all the misfits and freaks. Basically their take on 'Star Trek Renegades.' Horrible idea for a spinoff. Michelle Yeoh was predictably cringe in the role. Backdoor pilot fail.

    Positives:

    - Pike was good, as always. Sonequa tried, especially in that scene with Amanda..but she was completely uneven and almost borderline crazy in her Tilly discussion scene. The delivery was way off.

    - Uhh... good effects for the 10 million they spent on this shit.

    3/10

YT reviews are going to tear this episode a new one.

Maybe, but we probably won’t find out unless they do a time skip or something

The stuff with Amanda was excellent.

The stuff was Tilly was borning.

The stuff with the Klingons was uncompelling.

The stuff Section 31 was stupid.

Overall, pretty weak episode and about what I expected. I knew looking back to last season was going to be a mistake. Hopefully, it'll be the low point of the season and the show can keep moving forward.

And Honestly, I hope they scrap the Section 31 series. That ship wreaks of silly 90s badness. If they want to do something with Yeoh, I think I'd be much happier with something set around the time (or shortly after) Brightest Star.

Anyway, I think a 6 is all I can muster. I'd probably go even lower, but I really like the stuff between Micheal and Amanda. I even found myself getting a bit emotional.
