Star Trek Discover failure before the first episode :(

    my one takeaway from this thread is that from now on, I will only refer to it as The Star Trek

    Star Trek Discovery is a failure? I'll try to pick up the shattered pieces of my life and go on. Surely there is a support group out there for people like me.

    The attitude of the OP doesn't surprise me. Fans have been declaring new Trek dead since 1987.

    Star Trek keeps being reinvented, and endures despite the fans' protests. I think that's more than a little ironical. ;)

    Give the show a chance. There is a danger that they will try to hard to make a diverse show and it may be to obvious if they harp on things like a persons sexuality but as long as they play it like TOS, TNG, DS9 and VOY did it should be fine. Basically stick to the story and don't dwell on social commentary about diversity because it wouldn't even be an issue 250 years from now anyway.
