Star Trek blu-ray deleted scenes

I had to get around to converting the Gaila avi to mov, but I've watched it now; and having watched them all, I would say JJ did the right thing by leaving them out. So, I'm in that camp. The Gaila clip especially made me glad I didn't see Kirk acting like that. Better not to see the man behind the curtain in that one.

So all green-skinned people look alike to Kirk?

RACIST!!

Gaila scenes were dumpable.

I liked the Klingon scenes because Nero needed all the characterization he can get (even if he has like one line in them!)

Kirk's brother should've been kept, if only because he passing him on the road.

The Vulcan scenes...meh...we see baby Kirk, seeing baby Spock...might lead to some TREK BABIES cartoon, so yeah, wise move to dump that, too. :p

Great scenes, I'm glad I will be able to own them on the blu-ray in three weeks. Thanks for posting these I shed a tear when Amanda cried for joy at Spock's birth. I would love to see a cut of this film with those scenes added in, though I am still very happy with the tighter theatrical cut, the cut scenes are just icing on the cake for a trekker like me.:techman::klingon:

The other scenes are nice, but the not-Gaila scene is the one I got a real kick out of.

In the script, they offer the option of using Gaila in the scene - that is, she pretends not to be Gaila because she knows him well enough to know that he won't be able to tell the difference and it's her way of telling him to fuck off. Would have played completely differently, of course.

Thanks sal for the scenes could not wait until the blueray . The Nero ones are so dam cooooool i love that pointy eared tattooed bad guy . And the klingons bad asses !!!!! and spocks birth WoW JJ yer the man

Love the fight between Amanda and Sarek. Would have liked to see that scene of her standing up to her stubborn husband in the movie.

Thanks so much for posting these, Salvor.

Wow. I understand why most of Winona Ryder's scenes were cut from the movie, her performance was not very convincing. Maybe another actress should have played the part?

I admit that even though I liked the bickering scene between Amanda and Sarek, Ryder seemed a little... flat to me. I liked her just fine in the birth scene and I loved her in the scene with Spock in the movie. The way she smiles lovingly at him and fixes his collar... so tender. I understood right away how close they were through that one scene.

Something I noticed watching the deleted scenes that I didn't catch at the theater is that a lot of the set dressing in the simulator "control room" where Gaila works - as well as a couple of units seen outside her dorm room when Kirk is hastily exiting - were also used on Ron Moore's Battlestar Galactica. There are a number of vertical racks of displays as well as some seated consoles.

This has all happened before and it will happen again!

The vertical stacks, at least, are rental props that were also used in Firefly.

Funny thing with Youtube is once something goes on it , people get a copy and up load it them selves to youtube again and other video sites, almost spreading it like a virus. Just a funny observation.

Just buy the real thing and support the actors and writers getting their deserved royalties.

Well, colour ME racist.

I thought it was Gaila, and was very puzzled over the bonus scene's title - and seeing Gaila in blue - I think I assumed she'd be in red, and I was feeling content we finally knew what ship she'd ended up on... - till the hilarious last comment. A very funny scene.

We got our official copies Down Under this week. Yeeha!

I knew it wasn't Gaila immediately because her head was too small.

I hated that scene. Kirk did NOT forget the names of his wimmin.. well.. except for that one he was messing around with at the Xmas party..

hmm.. maybe that scene is quite Kirk after all.

Vulcan-Human family problems

Not needed, only serves to give Amanda more presence in the film when she clealy has the very next scene (talking to spock before he goes before the council) .

I think this scene should've stayed in because it made external the internal conflict of Spock through his parents, showing us the audience what each of them represent to Spock--human vs. Vulcan thinking. This we got TOLD later in the movie, but this where we actually SEE it.

The scene also serves the undercurrent of emotion Spock feels for his mother, which culminates in the scene where Kirk says, "You feel nothing! It must not even compute for you! You never loved her"

Well.. anyone who has watched TOS knows that Spock has mother issues. I didn't think it needed to be spelled out any more than it was in the STXI.
