Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

I think it's ironic that Chris Hemsworth is actually younger than Chris Pine (by two years)

either way Jim is going to be older than his pops when they go back in time (if they do go back or time) or they can just use some of that movie magic to age Hemsworth to look like an older George Kirk. I'm hoping George Samuel Kirk, Jr gets a reference in the next film.

I hope it's Kirk against Kirk. Hemsworth playing a Mirror Universe version of George Kirk.

Do you think fans would be a little more excited for Beyond than STID? I could exaggerate and say that my guess is $75 million opening weekend but it is quite probable.

I'm still going for a mid-$80m opening.

Let's say the stars align.

The marketing and trailers have been quite effective; especially the 2nd & 3rd trailers and TV spots.

The very positive vibes from reviews, reactions and premieres.

No more is it Khan or not. No make or break issue in the film to split opinions.

Just a rollicking good time and a subtle and not so subtle message or two!

The Enterprise encounters a space anomaly which the USS Kelvin captained by George Kirk comes out of. The two Kirks go on an adventure until our Kirk has to make the decision whether or not to send his father back to his death at the hands of Nero. Maybe throw a twist in there at the end to prevent it from being a full-blown Yesterday's Enterprise remake, I don't know, do something.

And of course, it'd be directed by none other than Quentin Tarantino (skip to 1:09:55) ;)

As far as I know, the movie is projected to open at about 55-60m which 10m short of STID and 20m short of ST09! But I think both the movie and marketing budget might have been lower this time.

Please God. None of that mirror universe bullshit.
I'm thinking it will be Prime Captain George Kirk, along with his ship and crew, some how end up in the Kelvin Timeline.
They get notion by the Enterprise.
But there will be different reaction between the two Kirks James Kirk will be happy that he's seeing his father alive and well; And George Kirk wouldn't know that he is in another universe and wondering why his son with the Enterprise is suddenly there and how they weren't pick up on censors.
