So, I wonder if we're dealing with some new weapon that brings down Starships?
Star Wars ou Star Trek aliens?

How does that guy with the claws dress himself?
Just to repeat my theory they fix up the Vancouver ship enough to fly it to Dubai. At about 0:40, they seem to rehearse (or are filming) a rescue operation. Since they are running from the ship, it's safe to assume it just crashed, and thus hasn't been there for a while. But it seems strange that the ship is so weather-beaten. Perhaps it's been spending too much time at the bottom of the ocean...![]()
No, it was done in Vancouver. Check out this photo here (as well as the others):I have seen no pics of the cast with the Vancouver ship. That footage of Pine and Sofia emerging from the hatch looks to have been done somewhere else (the set's perfectly level, for one thing).

For a location that isn't supposed to be a forest, they seem to have gone through a lot of trouble to put mangled trees in the picture.

So Kirk and Scotty (and Boutella) fix a mangled wreck so that it can fly (at warp), direct it to a Federation outpost for some reason, then crash it and kill untold hundreds / thousands in the process.Just to repeat my theory they fix up the Vancouver ship enough to fly it to Dubai.

No, they fix it and fly it to a different location on same planet, crashing near the city where Captain Elba has established a Federation outpost with the ship's survivors (perhaps forcing natives to adopt Federation principles, contrary to the Prime Directive). I don't know why they'd fix the ship and fly it, but plot will find a way. Maybe it was just quicker than walking?
Given the damage on the Vancouver saucer and how close the bridge dome is to the "new" rim: no they won't fix it and no they won't fly it to Elba-Ville...
Its more probable that these are two different ships.

agreed, some of these theories sound like the most boring Trek movie since Insurrection. I really hope its not going to be Star Trek Avatar/Insurrection done right, or a big screen version of Prime Directive/Omega GloryNo one cares about the goddamned Prime Directive.
The USS. Yorktown single handed held off a large Romulan fleet long enough for Earth and allied forces to arrive. In doing so, she crashes on the planet surface with the lost of 64 officer and crew.
It could be the Klingons? But still, the Yorktown was shot down some time ago and she took down the Klingons or who ever she was fighting down with her.The USS. Considering that the last movie made quite clear that the Federation's most deadliest enemy are the Klingons, I'd guess that if the Yorktown was destroyed by any adversary, it would be them, not the Romulans.
