Personally, I'm just really glad you're doing it. I remember seeing images somewhere of some very bulbous ships, but I can't find them now.

As far as I know, the Botany Bay is the only true Pre-TOS design ever shown on screen, and it's hard to extrapolate from that.

Well, we have also seen the Daedalus Class via Captain Sisko's model of the USS Horizon.

Can't wait to see this when its made. Fine work and I'm loving the ships and the back story looking good when does filming start ???

We start shooting September 22nd at the Phase II Sets in New York. We will shoot all the ship based scenes, which amounts to just over half the script.

We then will shoot 4 location shoots and 3 sound stage shoots in L.A. over the following 6 months.

Sounds great!
Hope you'll manage to camouflage the sets and the atmosphere enough to make them seem like an older type of ship.

I really like how concrete your plans are. Gives me confidence you will succeed in making it, and I can't wait to see it.

Great stuff hopefully a great story to be told !!!

Here is an update.

After meeting With our Director (Christian Gossett), DP (Mario Ortiz, a 3x Emmy Winner) and Gaffer (Dave Berry, who has been DP on Phase II and is very highly regarded as a Gaffer), it was decided that the Phase II bridge, configured as it is, being fully enclosed, was simply not suitable to shoot for our needs.

So, being that I am also a Producer on Phase II, I have helped to accelerate the move of Phase II to a bigger facility. We are working this right now. What is needed is the ability to move around the bridge (15' on all sides) and to fly the front of the bridge, so that you can actually use camera movement with a jib or a dolly. So you can actually get the shots that they got on TOS, or get shots that you expect to be able to get in a modern feature.

So we moved the Sep. Phase II Location portion of our web feature (about 1/2 of the whole feature) till June, and we will get all the other locations, which are being shot in LA, shot between now and then, on the schedule we originally set. It delays the production about 3 months, but allows us to spend a lot of time on making sure this is the quality we expect.

So stay tuned for more updates.

Alec

Thanks for the update, looking forward to it.

I can't help but think a lot of people are going to benefit from this going forward, new shots for Phase II and any other production that shoots there as well.

As a fan all I can say is thank you.

WOW. You guys are really setting the bar high for yourselves... can't wait to see the cinematography that results from this move.

Just went through this thread an am very impressed. Kudos to you guys, and here's hoping this turns out as splendidly as it looks to!
