Star Trek animated series

I thought I'd let you all know that starting this Sun, Sept 4th Heroes and Icon station will start running the animated series at 7pm and 7:30pm eastern time.

I thought the series was very well done. I thought the stories were very good.

LOVE the 50th Anniversary Set. Watching it so that I can review it. Watching it even as I type this.

Hard to believe that I've never seen any remastered Trek before. I was too cheap to replace my original DVDs. Blown away!

Any word yet on the blu-ray release in North America?
I wouldn't have thought Blu Ray definition and sound track would add much to TAS given the level to the animation and would be happy with the DVD.
The plots often have a lot of interesting content and links to episodes of TOS often more so than individual
TOS episodes referred back to another.

"The Time Trap" was messed up for the DVDs. Someone felt the need to change the background of the pocket dimension from red to black. I hope they fixed it back for the Blu-rays.

Yeah. The stickler in me wants them to change it back, but it really doesn't affect the episode. So, whatever they do, I'm cool with.

You might be right. I've never bought TAS on any medium. I've been watching some episodes on Netflix and have enjoyed them more than I remembered from Saturday mornings in the 70s. So, when the blu-ray set was announced, I thought: why not? But, if it'll only be available as part of the 50th anniversary set, I'll probably go ahead and get the DVD set instead. I have everything else I want, so I won't be getting the 50th set just for TAS.

Heroes and Icons channel is having an all day ST specials starting at 1PM. All kinds of interviews leading up to the 7PM showing of TAS. Check your local listings.

I just watched the entire series on Netflix. Surprisingly good and much better than Season 3 of TOS.

Apparently, there is a standalone release coming out in Canada in November.

TAS was the first version of Star Trek I knew, being only a couple years old when it was on. But since my parents were fans, they had it on when it ran originally.

In fact, I think that was the first Trek series I saw completely, with episodes of TOS seen here and there. It wasn't until TMP (and me being 7 years old at that point) that I branched out to watch more TOS.

But I've always loved TAS, always considered it part of the canon.
