Star Trek 4 Reportedly Shelved

Yes, it did. It had a production budget of $135 million. Let's say it cost twice in reality. It made $458 million world-wide. It turned a nice profit. Beyond, sadly, did not.
i said that over a month ago, well before it made those numbers. regardless, it's nothing compared to the haul even the lowest grossing transformers film took, so the point still stands: paramount won't let the star trek property languish, despite diminishing box office, any more than it will the transformers property.

I hope you're right.

Beyond could've done with that extra 100m.. had it wed be lining up for StarTrek... what would they have called Hemsworth ST4?...Star Trek Future Past? (remember no colon) Star Trek Resurrection? Resurgence? Regeneration? Redemption?

And then after those disasters, it will be rebooted again as Star Trek Begins. Until a few years later when it will get another reboot as Kirk v Spock: Dawn of Logic.
With a much-maligned yet commercially successful spin-off called Suicide Trek, I suppose.
