i said that over a month ago, well before it made those numbers. regardless, it's nothing compared to the haul even the lowest grossing transformers film took, so the point still stands: paramount won't let the star trek property languish, despite diminishing box office, any more than it will the transformers property.

If they wouldn't pay Chris Pine what was previously promised in 2018, they won't in 2020 or 21. It'll be Trek, but it'll be new and feature a cast of cheap unknowns.
