I have noticed lol it's funny they use their own speculations as sources.
to be fair, I read other sites assuming the Pike series and Discovery movie are a sure thing even though no official announcement was made. It's possible they want to make a tv movie for cbs access, but it would be a spin off of Discovery, I think, because it honestly would feel redundant to me otherwise. I dunno what they'd even need a movie for when it comes to those characters when they already have a whole series and possible new seasons to add.
As for the Pike series, it's one of those 'careful what you wish for' things for fans. It seems contradictory for them to free themselves of the 'continuity trap' with Discovery only to fall in that trap again, and worse, with another prequel series. Pike and Spock got enough space in Discovery for me and we already know how it's going to end for them both.
I get they need to get more subscriptions but it feels like oversaturation for me.
But then again, I don't personally have the patience to follow many tv-shows like I used to, let alone many series from the same franchise. I'd rather watch something completely new from different genres too. It's like with the movies, it isn't too wise to release a new one about space right when there are already 3 other movies like that getting released in the same season.
Who knows what's going to happen with the current pandemic, anyway

The future is uncertain. Like the rest of the world, Hollywood&co's productions have stopped too and when, hopefully, this nightmare finally ends, I feel a lot of projects that were announced or were in the works will get ditched because it won't be possible to just restart everything at once. So many things may change in the meantime, funds may not be available anymore, investors and producers can change. It isn't easy. They all lost 2020 for sure.
I think a lot of movies and shows will get the short end of the stick and I genuinely feel for the many people working behind the scenes that may lose their job.
