I dunno, prime timeline stuff is more redundant to me than exploring a completely new and unpredictable universe where you have more narrative freedom, and aren't trapped by established canon.
Finally, confirmation that we will eventually see another Kelvin film. I can't wait to see both the interior sets and exterior in depth of the 1701-A from Beyond.
Good. Now we can get a movie to wrap up their tangent universe and restore an actual narrative to the franchise that includes the movie offshoots, and stop arguing about timeline rewrites and alt universes.
The underlined part does not adhere to the "post, not poster" idea I've asked you to work on.What is is with fans like yourself that you want to see the Prime Universe come back so much for?
Discovery doesn't need a movie. That's redundant. And really, a crossover with the kelvin timeline? Tbh that show messed up with time travel enough, in some ways it seems to conflict with the time travel device used in kelvin trek. For instance, the moment they introduced the real angel I just assume the discovery crew isn't in the prime timeline but, rather, another alternate reality. Tptb is obsessed calling it prime but in the reality of the story, it's impossible for the characters to know if Michael&co are part of the same reality tos spock&co were part of. Not to mention the ending. ..it's not plausible to just assume they are still in prime.
Discovery doesn't need to interfere with the kelvin timeline too. It would get a tad ridiculous.
This is harder to believe than A Spock spin off
No doubt the reason wegotthiscovered dot com is reporting the rumor. "Unlikely to far-fetched" seems to be their territory....

how can, in the reality of the story, the disco characters know for sure that they are part of that same reality, anyway? There are tons of possible realities. The characters wouldn't see themselves as part of an alternate reality either way because there isn't a default reality. Prime simply is the first one we watched. Had the kelvin trek characters never met Nero and Spock prime, they wouldn't even know the prime timeline existed and their reality is different compared to that one. To them, they never were part of an alternate reality. They are part of THE reality.Michael&co are part of the same reality tos spock&co are part off. The episode If Memory serves makes that concrete canon that Disovery is a prime prequel of TOS.
The ending of season 2 suggest they are still in prime.
I really want it to be true but I'm not holding my breath.https://www.flickeringmyth.com/2020...picard-noah-hawleys-star-trek-movie-and-more/
Looks like Hawley's Trek movie is still happening?
"Total BS that we just pulled out of our own hindquarters" is WGTC's bread & butter. They're awful. No doubt the reason wegotthiscovered dot com is reporting the rumor. "Unlikely to far-fetched" seems to be their territory.
Enough.I'm going to guess no chance on that. Maybe a cameo, but the show can't be that popular given the forum in which it airs. How many subscribers does CBS have?

Yeah I don't care if a writer/director is a Star Trek fan, and I'm tired of hearing all the people behind Trek tell us what big fans they are. I only care if they're talented and inspired. You don't need to have been a Trek fan to make something good that's compatible with Star Trek canon and in the spirit of the franchise.Man, that 'I'm (he is)(they are) a real trek fan(tm)' narrative is exhausting.
If it's still the kelvin timeline cast, no offense to the guy but I'd give Michael Giacchino up only for Hans Zimmer at this point, lol
However, from Hawley's words his Trek isn't a sequel anyway...and if that is the case, who cares if he gets a new composer too, I guess. Assuming he gets a movie.
I tend to believe Paramount&Co may want to use the current cast still, and they might thus disagree with this guy if he wants to make his own reboot.... but who knows? Maybe they want to hire him for a spin off anyway. I'd rather them not force him to make a sequel with this cast though because if he doesn't like the trilogy and isn't inspired by this trek, it might be counterproductive to give him the job.
It's sad that it seems like Paramount&co cannot find a director and writers who like their thing and are truly inspired to continue it. It shouldn't, honestly, be that hard but for some reason it is and it's just a pity. I used to mostly blame the studio but I'm starting to think that struggle is an important layer in this situation.
Going to self professed trek fanboys is useless, though.
