Spock Prime: An act of faith. One I hope that you will repeat in the future at StarFleet.

 

[Yeoman Randi]

Spock: In the face of extinction it is only logical i resign my Starfleet commission and help rebuild our race.

 

[LeadHead]

Spock Prime: And yet, you can be in two places at once. I urge you to remain in StarFleet. I have already located a suitable planet on which to establish a Vulcan Colony. Spock, in this case, do yourself a favor. Put aside logic, do what feels right. Since my customary farewell would appear oddly self-serving, I shall simply say...

Spock makes the traditional Vulcan hand salute.

Spock Prime: Good Luck.

 

[Yeoman Randi]

Some time passes. At Starfleet Academy:

Admiral Whatshisface (drawing a blank.) This assembly calls Captain James Tiberius Kirk. Your inspirational valor and supreme dedication to your comrades are in keeping with the highest traditions of service.....and reflect utmost credit to yourself, your crew and the Federation. It is my honor to award you with this commendation. (He pins in on JT's shirt). By Starfleet order 2855 you are hereby directed to report to Admiral Pike, USS Enterprise for duty, as his relief. (They shake hands. Kirk goes over to Pike who is in wheelchair.)

 

[LeadHead]

Kirk: I relieve you Sir.

 

[Mr. Laser Beam]

Pike: I am relieved.

 

[Yeoman Randi]

KirK: Thank you sir.

 

[LeadHead]

Pike: Congratulations, Captain.

Pike shakes Kirks hand

Pike: Your father would be proud.

 

[Yeoman Randi]

Lots of clapping. Overhead is Spock Prime

Spock: Thrusters on full.

 

[LeadHead]

Back on the Enterprise...

Sulu: Maneuvering Thrusters and Impulse Engines at your command, Sir.

 

[Yeoman Randi]

Chekov: Weapon systems and shields on standby.

 

[LeadHead]

Uhura: Dock control reports ready, Captain.

 

[Yeoman Randi]

Kirk (enters bridge): Bones, buckle up! (calls down to engineering) Scotty, how we doin'?

 

[LeadHead]

Engineering

Scotty: Dilithium Chambers at Maximum Captain. GET DOWN!

We see that Keenser, in proper starfleet uniform is sitting on top of Engineering equipment, shaking his head at Scotty.

 

[Yeoman Randi]

Kirk (in the big chair): Mr. Sulu, prepare to engage thrusters.

 

[LeadHead]

The turbolift doors open, Spock steps onto the bridge.

Spock: Permission to come aboard, Captain.

 

[Yeoman Randi]

Kirk: Permission granted.

 

[LeadHead]

Spock: What?! I'm not welcome here?!

Security escorts Spock out.

Wait! That's not the way the movie ends! Lets recheck and try again.
