News Star Trek: “Black Lives Matter”

How about: "Black People Get Arrested and Killed Too Often in a Free, First World Country. Let's Unite to Try to Stop That From Happening"?

 

Let's not beat around the bush. People who say "all lives matter" are racist, alt-right chuds.

 

There was never going to be positive forward movement out of this. It is just one more dead black man that the majority of white society really doesn’t care about. George Floyd is just an inconvenience to them. Just like dead kindergarteners are an inconvenience to gun owners.

Well, you clearly haven't seen "Profit and Lace" or "Move Along Home."

 

It's not playing favorites, it's addressing a historical and ongoing disparity. All lives matter should be the default in an ideal world, but it's not the reality in our world. The point of saying Black Lives Matter is a reminder of those who are too often left behind, and until we fix that disparity, jumping in with "All Lives Matter" is being dismissive of their cause of seeking equality and justice.

 

Isn't respecting life a prerequisite to respecting property?

 

All body parts matter. But if your ankle is broken do you just keep talking about the relatively good shape your shoulder is in?

 

"All Target Stores Matter!" I've heard so many people more upset about looting Target rather than the brutal death of a human being, it's sickening. All of the counter-slogans represent a defensiveness on behalf of the status quo, unfortunately.

 

I want all lives to matter but I recognize that sadly, it must be said that Black Lives Matter to recognize the history and disparity.

I just want to value all human lives.
