It isn’t playing favorites when a race has been mistreated for the past four hundred years.

Nope. Not in the way you're posing the argument.
No more than a fire department responds to a blaze at one home when it's actually burning and doesn't visit the other properties. That doesn't mean the other property doesn't have value. But it's not the property that's on fire.
Recognising the discrimination and mistreatment black people have historically faced and continue to face on a daily basis isn't "playing favourites".
All kids have value. But if the poor kid who needs a subsidized school lunch doesn't get special attention because they're more vulnerable then does any kid have value?
I’m certainly wondering about yours right now...
You understad that many peoples through history have faced the conditions and treatment you mention? Why not include them all in "lives matter?"
Why should you, why should you choose too?

Or you could acknowledge that the US has and continues to mistreat the African-American community.
Because "all lives matter" is a rallying cry for those who pretend that no work needs to be done in order to achieve equality in American society, thus leaving those who are vulnerable behind.

Do you think the best way to achieve these goals is tby way of the current method of protest? Any positive forward movement we might of made were lost with the first broken window.

If you want to have a slogan, how about one that brings all of us together.
