Stallone to direct Rambo 5, writing 6

One sequel seems excessive, let alone two. But we'll see. Rambo was surprisingly entertaining, despite having little resembling a plot.

I admit to having had a touch of pessimism about Rocky Balboa and Rambo upon hearing about them. This was before I had seen other aging 80's franchises reborn successfully in the current day. While I felt a nice sense of closure at the end of Rambo I am open to more.

I will therefore hold off on any preconcieved ideas about a Rambo 5 let alone Rambo 6 since the character has, imo, already been reborn successfully to modern audiences.

If he gets them both out in a span of 3-4 years it'll most likely work.

Just leave Rocky alone.

Well six Rambo movies would equal Rocky.

I wonder if anyone's done that many sequels for two different franchises. Mel Gibson's done 4 (Lethal Weapon) and 3 (Mad Max). That's the only one I can think of right now.

Lethal Weapon 5 is in the works, supposedly Glover and Gibson are gonna pass the torch to Butters (Chris rock) and a charater to debut in 5 respectively

Well Sean Connery did 6 legit James Bond movies, 7 when you count Never Say Never. But 6 films for two franchises by one actor, which is Aragorns point, hasn't been done that I know of.

The closest I could think of would be Harrison Ford in four Indiana Jones films (and an episode of Young Indiana Jones) and three Star Wars films (and the Star Wars Holiday Special, however you decide to count that cultural abomination).

I guess Patrick Stewart is also up there with the 4 (Star Trek) and 3 (X-Men). And if Ian McKellan is in the two Hobbit movies, that gives him 5 and 3.

I want to say Jackie Chan, but I'm guessing a lot of movies that are retitled as sequels outside of China aren't even related movies at all.

Plus add in the two Jack Ryan films, and you have a winner.

Of course the late Llwellyn Jones was in 17 sequals as Q, so he might just take the prise.

Desmond Llewelyn, you mean?

The prize is for appearances by one actor in two separate franchises.
Desmond has plenty of course in Bond, but what other movie franchise does he also have multiple appearances?

Should Stallone do 6 Rambo to go with the 6 Rocky films.

That is how this tangent got started. Its not what one actor has appeared the most in any one franchise.

Just keeping things straight.

Vin Diesel in three Fast and Furious movies and three Riddick movies (one which was animated--and possibly two more on the horizon) comes close.

Yes, I'm sorry, I have a cold
