*Spoilers* U.S.S. Franklin Design?

This is the same image I got, but mine has no autographs. SORRY EVERYONE for trying to do a live stream, I thought a stream would be fun.
I'd just like to emphasize how awesome the Beyond team and Omaze is for getting us such awesome perks for donating to charity.

I hope they do a better job of scaling it. The bridge window seems taller than the edge of the saucer.

I really like that actually!! Fits perfectly between the NX class and the Enterprise form the new movies.

So * SPOILER ALERT* obviously though this is just concept art and it may look totally different later. Since you already have a Franklin thread here, and warned for spoilers, I'll just post below

Nice! Guessing it's a little scout ship. Surprised how much it looks like the NX-01 Enterprise.
I also spammed this all over Facebook, I hope you don't mind. Credited you, JKM.

Can't say I like it. The pylons and nacelles look like the back end of a 1960s era Cadillac. Still, it's just concept art. The final product might look a lot better in the movie.

Nice ship, sad it has no registry though. Looks like it might predate the timeline split, maybe even older than the Kelvin!

I have to say I was hoping for something a little bit more unorthodox. Like how the Kelvin had vertical nacelles.

Yeah.

This is one more elaboration of the JJTrek aesthetic - which I liked, as a fresh take on the look of Star Trek after a couple of decades of elaboration on the sets and costuming of modern Trek.

I think I'm sort of over it, though. It has its limitations and silliness just as the previous versions did.

I'm looking forward now to the new series and to whatever the post-Abrams version of Star Trek looks like...hopefully, something different again that leverages the work on these three movies the way TNG did the designs of the TOS-based movies.

I don't mind it. Don't love it, don't hate it. I think its a conventional throwback to placate fans in preparation for the batshit insane new Enterprise (You like the Enterprise? How about the Enterprise in italics. With arrowheads EVERYWHERE).

Booooo! So the "homage" is a shout-out to the series that almost killed the franchise? I hope this is a red herring to throw people off the scent, so to speak.

I... actually kinda like that. Thanks for sharing, JKM!

Between the Kelvin looking like a Saladin-class with an engineering hull added and this I'm starting to think the guy making ships for the JJverse is a FASA fan.

Except the Saladin was from FJ's Tech Manual, not FASA... ;)
