Spock's official name: S’chn T’Gai

Seems weird. Not saying what the names actually are (like it's a big mystery to reveal later), and having posters designed, manufactured and displayed with incorrect names. Yawhat?

Oh well. At least they have names. Over at the competition with Kenobi (spoilers for Star Wars)
The Grand Inquisitor who will be hunting down Kenobi still has no name other than his job title

Can mods PLEAE fix the spelling in the thread title? It's S'chn T'gai

Taken from trekcore :p

Unpronounceable indeed.

Jeepers, we coulda been calling him "Shawn" this whole time?

Mark
Well, your forum display says you hail from Canada. Tell me, can you pronounce 'Shawn' differently from 'John' and 'Quran' as various accents in the world do? And if you can, what does that say about all the North Americans who cannot?

Heh, it occurs to me that it must be a pain in the ass for transgender English or Australian individuals named 'Don' or 'Dawn' to visit certain accent regions of the Anglosphere.

Why couldn't they just leave TOS and everything in that era alone ... it's getting worse and worse!

Check Diane's acknowledgment page for The Wounded Sky. Next to Rotsler's name, she has him saying in a parenthetical statement ("His middle name is Edward. You want his serial number?")

Rotsler's book was published in December, 1982. Duane's was published in December, 1983.

Yep. I thought I remembered Diane was disagreeing with Bill Rotsler there. (Sorry, I don't have my copy of "ST II Biographies" handy.) She can't be making a statement that ST III got it wrong with "H.", 'cos that was 1984.

Because some fans want more Pike, Number One and Spock.

Would it bother fans if the writers made the Enterprise to be named after someone, as their last name?
Bob Enterprise, maybe? Or Gene Enterprise?

The gym shirt reads "ENTER" on the front and "PRISE" on the back?

In what way does revealing a first name that was already said to exist alter the character? It's just a bit of background filling in the blanks for eagle-eyed fans, not a significant change to the character. They're not going to start calling him by this name.
