You’d think he’d have had to have filled it out somewhere when he applied for Starfleet. I’m sure Kirk knows.
Of course Kirk does. He had to sign that waiver. The more important question would be:
Has Spock ever told Kirk the name?
I have my doubts...![]()
Kirk doesn't seem too keen on reading personnel files. You’d think he’d have had to have filled it out somewhere when he applied for Starfleet. I’m sure Kirk knows.
Oh please, Kirk didn't even know that Spock's father was the Vulcan Ambassador to Babel, or Spock's own father; until Sarek stepped on the deck of the ship, and because of a comment from his own mother Spock was suddenly forced to reveal Ambassador sarek and his wife Amanda were Spock's parents. You’d think he’d have had to have filled it out somewhere when he applied for Starfleet. Ib Starfleet it's pretty clear everyone addressed Mister Spock as 'Spock'. The trial computer didn't say anything different when mr. Spock was called to testify about events that occurred in THE TOS S1 episode, "Court-Martial", so even if his first Vulkan name is a part of his Starfleet personnel file, he's obviously taken great pains to make sure it is not made public.![]()

Kirk knows it, at least once they’ve mind-melded, which they have. It’s not something that would’ve been buried deep, and probably it’d be right near the surface. The more important question would be:

if it was Spock's wedding, why didn't Picard just say so. Spock was a well known figure in the 24th Century.
... who their parents are...
Kirk is Spock's best friend. Of course he didn't tell him. The next thing you know you'll be expecting people to tell their best friend about their fiancé, or half brother, or foster sister, or tragic death of a childhood pet, or who their parents are...
Unlike his family members, apparently...
