Spike dropping DS9?

cool thanks for posting that i have become quite the fan of hulu with having 24 up hours after a new episode airing, and the movies they have on there. now that i know remasterd original trek is there to i will definately be watching that as well.
Spike's 5 year contract window for DS9 is over this year (2004-2009), Voyagers is over in 2011 (2006-2011). Tng's was up in 2007 (2002-2007) and subseqently Scifi bought the rights to TNG (probably also for 5 years, not sure though) , Scifi also has Enterprise but if its also a 5 year window with them they would lose it in a year or 2. TVland has old TOS, while Remastered TOS still remains in local market syndication.

You can watch all the remastered full episodes for free on Hulu.com. I wish they would stream DS9, but they don't. All they have is TOS episodes.

You can only watch 16 of 79 remastered TOS episodes on hulu.com, i'm hoping they get all of them sooner or later.

just out of curiousity why bother with DVRing it if you have the whole series on dvd anyways. the DVD quality is actually better than that of spikes broadcasts anyways(and with out commercials) at least spilke on time warner los angeles anyways lol though i imagine the quality is the same no matter what cable company you get.
As for me, I'm too cheap to get the DVD's. After paying over $55 a month for basic 78 channel analog cable, I expect more for my programming. Instead, I get multiple MTV's, Disney Channel crap (no cartoons... just Miley), worn out recycling Simpsons, SciFi that shows wrestling and Reality TV, Spike which shows pure brain damaging poison, TVLand that shows reality and 90's throwaway TV, and lastly... no TREK anywhere!:vulcan: If it was up to me alone, I would disconnect the cable and put an antenna on the roof of my house for TV. I would save $650 a year that I could use for whatever DVD's I want and still have change. Oh Well.

The problem with Spike showing Trek was that they didn't know how to sell it. First, Trek is encompassing of all genders. Second, most people didn't have the time to view the weeklong Season 1 unveiling of DS9. Third, they put it at times when people were at work or school. After recording all 356 episodes of Dallas and half of Knots Landing, I was burned out of VHS recording. Fourth and Last, they kept shifting the times and not airing the episodes in order. This was the most frustrating.

I don't think SciFi would do much better. They are no longer consistant with their programming. They do late morning/ afternoon marathons of programming that is pretty much throwaway. then they show made for TV films, Ghost Hunters, wrestling, and more reality TV.
