Spike dropping DS9?

then you know that I am not talking about DS9's women and their breasts.

sheesh... this is the most I've talked about boobies in a public forum!

People, please! If you want to start a thread about breasts please take it to the Voyager forums and start a 7 of 9 thread up. Borg-boobs forever!
;)

Spike's 5 year contract window for DS9 is over this year (2004-2009), Voyagers is over in 2011 (2006-2011). Tng's was up in 2007 (2002-2007) and subseqently Scifi bought the rights to TNG (probably also for 5 years, not sure though) , Scifi also has Enterprise but if its also a 5 year window with them they would lose it in a year or 2. TVland has old TOS, while Remastered TOS still remains in local market syndication.

You can watch all the remastered full episodes for free on Hulu.com. I wish they would stream DS9, but they don't. All they have is TOS episodes.

Its possible... but Space missed a whole bunch, in the past couple of weeks.
Is Spike preempting it for a marathon of some kind maybe? They seem to be playing all the SW movies...

You're not the only one who noticed...

This thread dates back to April 2008. I can find nothing about DS9 on the Spike web page, so I thinks it's real this time.

I think it's time to cough up the cash and buy the first couple of seasons.

Not to worry. They're always pulling crap like this. 3 weeks of DS9 and one week of Bond James Bond or Redneck Mud Wrasslin and Pecker Pullin'.

Give it to next Monday and it'll be back

I hope so!

(Says the person who owns the entire thing in DVD and DVRs it on Spike TV anyway...)

Each series has its own set of broadcasting rights/permissions/etc. Its why some stations have one series, and one station has another. I don't think they sell Star Trek syndication as a package deal, rather its one series at a time.

^ I was out shopping today and I checked again. All the Star Trek DVDs at mine are $62; however, they're selling each set buy one and get one free.

FYE has a store in the local mall. I'll check with them. Thank you.

Checked my local store, not in stock, at all, and ordering would be at the regular price. There must be another store, right. I'll look elsewhere. Sales over, they're now $69.99 per. Bad timing, I guess.

^ I'm sorry that you didn't have any luck with yours. I'm going back to mine tomorrow and I'll see what they are there. I did hear from a friend of mine that works there that the owner of the franchise was considering closing so that may be why they were doing a BOGO.

actually, I'm kinda glad they dropped it. if I had to watch one more big boobied female just 'cos I wanted to watch DS9 I was going to throw right up!

now skiffi needs to live up to its damned name and pick up one of the best science fiction television shows ever made.

Couldn't have said it better myself! :techman:

Spike is such a jerkwad of a channel. Here's hoping the Scifi Channel might eventually bring the show new life/new fans. Perhaps even some (*gasp*) female fans who wouldn't tune in to Spike and put up with the boob brigade. :p

I'd heard that Scifi was changing its name. Beyond? or something like that

They were considering it , but i have not seen any evidence thats their moving foward with it.

cool thanks for posting that i have become quite the fan of hulu with having 24 up hours after a new episode airing, and the movies they have on there. now that i know remasterd original trek is there to i will definately be watching that as well.

just out of curiousity why bother with DVRing it if you have the whole series on dvd anyways. the DVD quality is actually better than that of spikes broadcasts anyways(and with out commercials) at least spilke on time warner los angeles anyways lol though i imagine the quality is the same no matter what cable company you get.
