By that reasoning, Wanda Maximoff wasn't a villain either? She was just angry and misguided? So it's totally okay to be pissed and hurt people to get what you want at any cost, and the ends justify the means?

Looks like this movie might hit a billion in less than a week. Pretty incredible. I mean spectacular.
Well maybe for the MCU, MJ is Peter's Gwen Stacy - they had their time together but a tragedy (Gwen's death/MJ's memory erasure) ends things. Peter will mourn the end of thw relationship and move on, but it will still play a major role in who he is for the rest of his life.

If the Deviants are biological monsters, and not more Robots like the Eternals, which seems to be the case, it is possible that the Celestials are sometimes multiversally responsible for the creation of Homo Superior, a million years go... But my point is that Mutants have to be created by the Celestials, they just don't happen, so maybe in some parallel universes, maybe they just don't.

I haven't seen the movie, but I have listened to some of the score. The opening moments of the final track (a suite) made me think immediately of E.T.
That doesn't give her the right to mind fuck and willingly kill innocent NYers.

I loved all the interactions between Peter, Ned, MJ and Frank. They're absolute gold. I didn't think I'd like it, but the Spidey evolving story was done well too.
The problem is the rest of the film. Spiderman has the best rogues gallery in comics... and we get Jean Grey as the antagonist. Not only that, but the evil shit she did mind fucking people is close to beyond redemption. While they didn't explicitly show it, her actions killed innocent civilians. There is no way in hell people didn't die with the mayhem she caused. Michael Mando is completely wasted as Scorpion. I'm sick of Damage Control. And I can't believe I sat to the end of the film for those end credits...

That's what FOX seemed to think about Mystique and Magneto, seeing how the X-Men kept forgiving them over and over and over.
I agree this part of the film is frustrating. I think this is the primary reason why I resisted the idea of Jean so strongly. While I don't think Scorpion could've carried the whole film on his own (but I thought the same about the Vulture, so who knows?), I was disappointed that he was reduced to a bit player who had no agency.
I try not to judge films on what it could've been, but it's hard not to be bummed out the film didn't want to dig into his classic rogues gallery without them being regulated to a montage and bit roles.
You still haven't said what you would have had her do. This wasn't rational thought, this was desperation amplified by fear and grief.
And I have no doubt that this incident, as well as the incident with Wanda, will play into humanity's hatred and fear of mutants.
And, again, I point to all the deaths that Tony Stark is responsible for and he still considered the greatest hero on the planet, when the argument can and has been made that he is actually the greatest villain.
In fact, if The Department of Damage Control winds up going full on evil (as if it hasn't already) and becoming the primary force hunting down mutants, then once again Tony Stark will have created the villain that has to be defeated.

Thank You. Listening to that last music suite alone it’s not a direct copy but certainly inspired by it. It’s really interesting here he is evoking the comfort of home as in returning to his friends.
I would have had her out of the movie and replaced with a classic Spider-Man villain. Otherwise, Frank's bullet should have found it's mark. And that sister she is grieving? Maybe she shouldn't be in park mind fucking people and teaching Jean how to do it in the first place. At a minimum, she deserved incarceration for that crap.
And Tony Stark? And the people who murdered Jean's sister without trial or due process? I'm seeing a double standard here.
And for that matter, you say then Frank's bullet would have hit its target. Well what about Frank Castle? He's not a hero. He's a fucking murderer! Spider-Man is a criminal for not turning him in when he has the chance. I imagine that's because he's a dude so it's okay with you.
