Speaking of Miniseries...

it would be cool if, after the 13 season run of S2, they came back later for a 2-3 episode isolated arc on what Lorca's crossover was like when it first happened. Then, maybe they could do 1-2 on ISS Discovery's crossover?

Seems like a no-brainer(?).

I want to know where Lorca got his trophies. At first I thought he gathered them over time like Theodore Roosevelt. But, time-wise, that's impossible. So something else happened and there's a story there.

They were probably in Prime Lorca's collection at his (non-ship) home or in storage, and Mirror Lorca brought them to the ship to learn more about his counterpart, and to try and look more genuine and well-established by having a collection that had been curated over years or even decades.

They missed a huge trick by not having a Lorca POV backstory episode after the big reveal. The Walking Dead had some really good episodes about The Governor, and it'd be really cool to see Lorca figure out where he was and unite the Disco crew and begin his master plan.

Leave Prime Lorca for a future Disco arc.

Won't happen. Lorca isn't a priority. They used Jason Isaacs to definitely add some legitimacy and gravitas to the series, but he was overshadowing Sonequa/Burnham and would continue to do so if he continued.

So he's turned into a silly moustache-twirling villain and killed off unceremoniously quite quickly, amusingly due to his love for Michael Burnham.

A Lorca-led series would have certainly been a treat, but alas.. that's not STD.

Technically, the mini-series wouldn't be Discovery. It would be Star Trek: Lorca or whatever they'd end up calling it. And with Prime Burnham in prison and Mirror Burnham being his stepchild/lover, it would be a completely different perspective and character dynamic. Especially if we mostly saw or only saw Mirror Burnham through flashbacks.

Aside from that, we'd have a mini-series we'd both agree kicks ass, takes names, and chews bubblegum.

Is that something that really needs to be seen though? There isn't much mystery to be unravelled. It's not very compelling, and we already know where it awkwardly ends up for Lorca.

The better chance to utilize Jason's talent is starting fresh with Prime Lorca, instead of working within the confines of a character they sadly ruined.

This idea sounds a better fit for a tie-in comic or novel, like Countdown for the 09 film. Something small for the die-hard fans.

I agree that it doesn't need to be seen. But I'm not going to object if they did it. They probably won't. If they do, they're reading here. And Vger23's theory about the beginning of Star Trek Beyond might be right. ;)

In case they are reading here: Hey! Alex Kurtzman! What's up? Are we entertaining enough for you?

Not sure if it needs to be seen, but Lorca was / is undeniably a very popular Star Trek character. Even many people who don't like DSC found Lorca fun and interesting.

The idea of a comic tie-in is a great one, though.

ill just say again, the books have a lot of interesting lead-ins. It's no mistake they featured Pike and Enterprise in the first DSC book. the last one featured Prime Lorca and even
a hint about what happened to him in the mirror universe
. I don't think that was put in for no reason. These books are tied very closely with the series.

It would amuse me if they found Prime!Lorca and he turned out to be exactly the same as mirror!Lorca was. Turns out he's just an ass.

"Dammit, who dissected my Tribble!? I was gonna test my new flamethrower on it!"

Well in the one novel he shows up in, Prime Lorca acts similar to how Mirror Lorca acted when pretending to be Prime Lorca, just not as evil.

In fairness he was dealing with some seriously bad stuff that had happened to him. But yeah, Dayton Ward did a great job of depicting that Lorca as not all that different really. Nature/Nurture.

I think it was poorly skipped over the actual fate of our Lorca. Apart from Cornwell dismissing his survival as being unlikely I don't see why they can't make a mission out of finding him.

It may actually end up being a future plot point (I hope?!?).
