I do admit, that sequence with Cloke's breakdown, in the penultimate episode of the season, is very good (though it gets too literal at certain points, like, for example, repeating the shot of the horse four times in a row).

Here's the scene, which runs at 9:45 and takes up an entire act.

I loved the show when it first aired. There was absolutely nothing like it out there. Unfortunately, it aired on Fox and they killed the show by preempting it with football, constantly. Had it been on a different night, or network, it might have had a chance. I picked up the DVDs a while back and enjoyed watching them again.

I think it could have potential as a reboot or start up where it left off. I think with a little less cheese factor, and being more well thought out, this show could be a potential hit.

It would be very easy to reboot S:AaB and make a brilliant series from what we already have.

I agree that there should be two squads, one of pilots and one of ground pounders. I don't mind mixing them up in special circumstances, this is still a drama, after all but there should be a clear delineation.

On a more trivial note I think that the FTL travel should be... not explained... but clarified. It's very muddled in the show but a tactical significance to when and where you can travel gets hinted at and it would be nice to have it defined.

Everything else you can keep - the history of the universe is excellent and I LOVE the fact that despite appearances the Chigs are not evil. Keep it as a series about men, women and maybe, later, robots and aliens at war. The series was always at it's best in those situations.

A reboot would be nice, never liked the Fighter Pilot/Basic Rifleman routine in a war were such resources could not be wasted like that. USMC recruitment poster speech about 'every Marine is a riflemen' be damned.

The pilots would only expect to be a rifleman if they had had their Hammerhead blasted out from them and they survived to reach a planet. Then only til pick up and he got a new Hammerhead.

I think the film "Behind Enemy lines' where they show on board carrier marine characters right beside the Navy pilots woul dbe the formula they should've used. A reboot SHOULD have both types of characters to show both fronts of the war.

Sorta 'Midway' Meets "The Sands of Iwo Jima' with a scifi twist and a dash of nuBSG drama.

I did love how the uniforms were a slight extension on Modern day uniforms and loved how it showed it was not just the United States fighting this war.

Overall great premise with some mistakes that could be improved with a reboot.

I would love to see one!
