Spoilers South Park - Post COVID Special

Just finished watching it. It was a lot longer than I expected. I couldn’t stop laughing at what did with Cartman. You just know this is just one long prank. He hasn’t actually converted.
Took me a while to work out who the person in the insane asylum. I admit I forgot about Butters.

I thought the episode was hilarious, especially the "Delta Plus Rewards" variant of COVID

I figured Cartman would be skinny and good looking, like Ben Hanscom from It, but him being a Rabbi was just perfect. I'm hoping it's not a huge prank and Cartman just grew up. But his kids had me cracking up, how they went from sweet and innocent to "FUCK YOU, UNCLE KYLE!"

Huh, I thought I posted my thoughts about it here, did I accidentally post in another thread?

I thought it was hilarious. I liked their view of the future 40 years from now even if it was a little bit 'Boomer cultural alarmism' focused. Stand up comics not allowed to do anything but compliment people and such. Especially from people who just got a near billion dollar deal even though they did a full episode of white people saying the N word, thus personally disproving cancel culture. I liked the part about medical science evolving to the point where old people are now trapped for decades in an unending dystopian state of feebleness. Even if it's like a less extreme variation of Futurama.

The thing about the 'Cartman is just playing a prank' theory is that it'd be too predictable, South Park doesn't like to repeat themselves without a twist. I think he changed sincerely, just like he changed in that erased timeline where he invented time travel. But, he's also the only character in the show whose life is better now, and I think he has no intention of unmaking his family, and he's going to fall back on his old habits trying to stop it.

Did Kenny lose his resurrection power when his mother went through menopause? There's a big question in this story, is Kenny one life only now, or will his now 70 year old mother suddenly have another Kenny baby which instantly grows into a full grown man.

I haven't watched South Park for a long, long time. An episode here and there when it sounded like the premise or topic they were tackling sounded interesting but, really, haven't watched it for well over a decade.

Heard about this special and gave it a curiosity watch and liked it. Interesting to see where it goes from here.

So you haven't seen the show since they started doing fully serialized seasons, and you didn't know in the show-verse, Randy started COVID.

I just finished the latest special, The Return of COVID. I enjoyed it just as much as the first one. Butters was not I was expecting but it was still funny. Cartman getting protective about his family that he hides them in the attic was just hilarious.
The ending was also very sweet with them all being happy. It’s a shame what happens to Cartman but at least it makes sense. Who knew marijuana was actually beneficial?

Now if I can just have a little time to talk about NFTs…

I thought part 2 was great. The part with Cartman was pretty sad, sacrificing his happiness for everyone else's. But I loved how the solution to Post-COVID anxiety was to get high enough to relax and cut other people slack.

The NFT stuff was hilarious too, spot on with the pump and dumb scheminess of it.

I never imagined I could feel bad for Cartman, sacrificing his family to save everybody and he gets screwed in the new timeline

South Park is supposedly running 7 more seasons but I can’t find much info about those seasons actually happening. Just anecdotes about the creators not wanting to do it when they’re 60. Must be why it cost nearly a billion to keep them on board.

This is the second time Eric Catman had a successful future erased. Only the first time he at least had a mechanic job.

Cartman starts a successful time travel company, then annoys his past self into not changing so he becomes a mechanic. Then he becomes an ethical loving father, only to sacrifice it and become a bitter homeless man.

There’s a Loki/variant joke here somewhere. Time seems to have a grudge against this guy.
