Spoilers Something from DS9 plays a big role in PIC S3

I can't think of any except Worf, and he feels like he's there just because he was in TNG.
Anyone who's been watching Picard, correct me if I'm wrong.
Though only three episodes have aired,
there are rumors that additional DS9 legacy characters may be making cameos.

More like one of the changelings under her command - as she is taking orders from another changeling

Good G-d! I've just started episode 5, and Picard is starting to look like a DS9 cover band:
changelings, importance of children, blaming Picard for Wolf 359, arms-dealing vulcans

So my gripe, then, is why don't we see some characters/actors from DS9? They gave us (fake) Tuvok, for crying out loud!

the title of the show is Picard. I wouldimagine Sisko would have been Matalas first choice but I doubt a recast would be acceptable.

I'm looking at this less as a snub to DS9's talent than an admission that the various series have not told rich stories with lots of potential as DS9 did. Of course, Borg have been done to death. Conversely, the Dominion War involves espionage and infiltration, potential genocide, and revanchisme.

Yes, that's my feelings as well. The Dominion Wars was huge and so had long reaching consequences. Just because the Deep Space Nine crew doesn't show up doesn't mean there isn't an impact. I find that kind of expectation to be shallow. Their legacy is in the long reaching impact of their story told. Isn't that something worth celebrating?

The cast is so big this season that any DS9 actor would have but a perfunctory appearance, not unlike Tim Russ'. The season is about reuniting the TNG cast and showing their legacy. I'll grant that there is some really good character work, especially Raffi and Worf.

If anyone should have been included, Wolfe should have been at least consulted on the story. He developed the Dominion. I think that he would have done more to make a changeling adversary that actually evolved from the Dominion War and expanded on the changeling legacy.

BTW, Tim Russ was awesome in his one episode of Poker Face. I recommend people see it.

I mean...it all stems from what Section 31 was up too so I don't know how it could evolve more from that War plot.

Let me ask this: what would a ship run by an all changeling crew look like? Why are the Picard changelings always presenting themselves as humanoids. IIRC, The Adversary showed how a changeling might commandeer a ship and fight the crew, shifting into human form only to deceive. I'll bet Wolfe would have made them imitate every surface, fly through every vent.

but thats not thestory. The consequences flow a certain way. Could you do more? Maybe. But, i think the exploration of all the consequences carries more weight for a non DS9 crew led story.

l don't think the changelings would run a ship of all changelings. The changelings are very valuable and a limited resource. One or a very small number of changelings would direct an entire theatre of a war, possibly with some more for special ops. They would have vorta and jem hadar around them, always, to do the more routine tasks that don't require a changeling - command a ship, plan a campaign, negotiate a treaty. Not to mention supervise the jem hadar, operate the ship, feed everyone, distribute the white. They'd also have the jem hadar and vorta around to protect them.

The creatures on Vadic's ship, what are they?
At first I thought they too were Changelings, or perhaps a new species of Jem 'Hadar but they look more birdlike than reptilian and yes I have read the dinosaurs eventually became birds theory! :ack:
