Some Stuff I've Been Working on...

Very cool shapes, but very nonfederation in styling. I'd love to see that retooled with some Nemesis-era detailing.

I don't know what parts of it are what, but I love it.

Edit: Also, I just noticed that the sideview looks like a giant cross-section of a TOS saucer. Nice.

well, anyway, something different again...

Yeah, pretty cool.

You're on a roll man. Don't stop.

So, which way does this move? Just looking at it I'd say along the short axis, but the Connie silhouette says it's along the asymmetric long axis.

Makes perfect sense to me. I love the forward swept 'wings'. This is my favourite design of yours to date. It's like a federklingonmulan 3 way design, absolutely superb.

Like the concept, not so sure about the size. If the comparison to the silhouette is accurate, then you'd need a transporter to get from the end of one "wing" of the ship to the other. Turbolift would just take too long.

Although as Inquisitor said, it's very Federklingomulan. Which makes it awesome regardless of what I just said!

If I could suggest a possible design study project...

How would you imagine a 26th+ century era design aesthetic of a Federation Starship combining elements which incorporate Klingon, Romulan, Ferengi, & Cardassian aspects.

The conjecture being that many of the major AQ powers would eventually join the UFP as member groups.

Question:
What era is your Aker Class from? (It looks very much like something spawned of such an AQ Alliance)

When you do a symmetrical design like that, do you draw both halves or do you do one half then use a lightboard and trace the opposite for the other side?

The 2 sides look perfectly matched.

it's mirrored, you can see it in the parchment texture near the centerline. also, diffing the image with its flipped self yields black, less some speckles due to jpeg artifacts.
