Some Star Trek Actors are Anti-Trump

Unless he's become naturalized just in the past three years, Shatner is not a U.S. citizen. You can follow the links from here to the article you linked to and then to an interview in 2013, in which he talks about why he has chosen not to become a U.S. citizen.

Thanks for clearing this up.

In any way, of the four actors @Lance Charger named, only one can vote and has not publicly declared opposition to Donald Trump.

He's also not allowed to vote in Canadian federal elections since he's a long term expat, though he could reclaim it if he reestablished residency in Canada.

William Shatner is THE EXPATRIATE: A man without a country is the most dangerous man alive. Coming to CBS this Fall.

Sorry I was thinking about absolutes.

You're %20 against Hillary and %80 against Trump, or similar numbers maybe.

Hey, that means that you are %60 for Hillary relative to Trump, which is the same sort of math for how Drumph side stepped Taxes since the mid 90s.

Responding to someone giving you correct information with "whatevs" is not a very productive way to conduct a conversation.

Maybe.

However, it is woefully inappropriate for you to inject yourself into a conversation to tell another adult how to conduct a conversation. People like you are the reason Donald Trump is going to be our next President.

What even more bizarre is that while ex-pats can't vote, they are allowed to run. A man who's been living in Seattle for over 5 years discovered that while he'd lost his right to vote, he hadn't lost his right to be a candidate. So he decided to run in the last federal election, just to show how absurd the rules are.

The riding he ran in? The one represented by then-Prime Minister Stephen Harper. He ran as an Independent, after filing the nomination papers (100 signatures needed from eligible voters in that riding) and paying the required fee. He did make it clear to people that he really didn't expect to win, didn't really want anyone to vote for him, and that this was just to make a point.

It would have been hilarious if he really had won, like the time or two when a Rhinoceros Party candidate came close to winning.

How dare people apply logic, reason and facts in an argument. Fucking elitists!

Btw, this thread is an open discussion. If you want to keep a discussion between you and someone else, feel free to use Personal Messages.

This a public forum, not a private conversation. It makes no sense to accuse someone of injecting themselves into it (especially someone who had already been participating in the thread).

Happy birthday.

Yeah, that's not how discussion forums work, sport. Buck up to criticism or start a blog.

If Donald Trump is elected, it will be because of people who supported his bigoted dog-whistle and fascistic rhetoric and regressive policies, what few he has actually stated, and Republicans who don't think he's got the temperament or qualifications to be President but are too cowardly to make a principled stand against him. People who correct you on a forum rank about #3,247 in reasons Donald Trump could possibly be elected.

Hillary is the lesser of two evils, although admittedly not by much.

She's the better choice by a whole bunch, honestly. She's competent, understands how the government works, isn't talking about dropping nukes on people, doesn't say we should give nukes to governments with humanitarian rights issues, doesn't seem to have crushes on Kim-Jung Un and Vladimir Putin...

Need I go on?

Seriously, there's a reason that the Russians want a Trump presidency. They can smell the sheer incompetence all the way in Moscow.

Actors, writers, producers, staff people...

It's funny that some folks think "celebrities" should keep their mouths shut about elections but were willing to hang on the words of a fake plumber...

I'd be okay with the expectation those folks stay quiet, as long as various religious figures were held to the same standard.
