Aiight kids? I'm Bones.

Right, so, Doctor Who's good innit. What are your top 10 stories (classic and new)? None of this "in no particular order" business, it's make your mind up thread.

Here's mine.

1. Revelation of the Daleks
2. The Caves of Androzani
3. Doctor Who and the Silurians
4. The Curse of Fenric
5. Vengeance on Varos
6. Kinda
7. Logopolis
8. The Pirate Planet
9. Ghost Light
10. City of Death

I hope series 6 is as good as Press Gang.

- 'Dalek'
- 'Father's Day'
- 'School Reunion'
- 'Smith and Jones'
- 'Human Nature/The Family of Blood'
- 'Blink'
- 'Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead'
- 'The Eleventh Hour'
- 'The Vampires of Venice'
- 'The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang'

Classic:
1. Pirate Planet
2. Stones of Blood
3. Invasion of Time (though, having re-watched this recently... lot of filler)
4. Three Doctors
5. Five Doctors
6. Ribos Operation
7. Genesis of Daleks

uh... now my memory fails.

Good thing I've only seen a fraction of the series so far, otherwise it would be impossible.

1. Midnight
2. The End of the World
3. The Dalek Invasion of Earth
4. The Mind of Evil
5. Dalek
6. Doctor Who and the Silurians
7. The End of Time
8. Inferno
9. The Invasion
10. The Tomb of the Cybermen

The ranking is rather arbitrary, though. Oh well.

And the top ten list by Bacl is...

#10 The Shakespeare Code

#9 The Unquiet Dead

#8 Silence In The Library/Forest Of The Dead

#7 Fire Of Pompeii

#6 School Reunion

#5 A Christmas Carol

#4 Human Nature/Family Of Blood

#3 The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances

#2 The Girl In The Fireplace

#1 Vincent And The Doctor

** summons 13-year-old self and tells him to contribute favourite Who episodes **

1. Blink.
2. An Unearthly Child.
3. Vincent And The Doctor.
4. The Parting Of The Ways.
5. The Caves Of Androzani.
6. City Of Death.
7. The Keeper Of Traken.
8. The Three Doctors.
9. The Curse Of Fenric.
10. The Ultimate Foe. (Yeah, you want some?)

(Note: The order and general makeup may have altered by the time you read this.)

1. City of Death
2. Robots of Death
3. The Talons of Weng-Chiang
4. Inferno
5. The Invasion
6. The Lodger
7. Human Nature/The Family of Blood
8. The Ribos Operation
9. Pyramids of Mars
10. Blink

It was tough--even though I like the show quite a bit, I don't think of too many episodes as "the best ever." Star Trek is much easier for me to give a top ten list for.

For right now anyway.

1. Genesis Of The Daleks
2. Earthshock
3. The Caves Of Androzani
4. The Talons Of Weng Chiang
5. Utopia/The Sound Of Drums/Last Of The Time Lords
6. Enlightenment
7. The Tomb Of The Cybermen
8. Robot
9. Underworld
10. The End Of Time Parts I and II

I wish I could somehow squeeze Vincent and the Doctor on my list, I kind of forgot about it. But then it would be even more imbalanced towards the new show.
I almost included Utopia/The Sound Of Drums/Last Of The Time Lords, too, because Utopia to me is really one of the best episodes ever. However, it sort of gets rather over the top in the other two episodes, it's pretty clear that there will be a giant reset button and I don't like the solution.

Nu Who:

1. Stolen Earth / Journey's End
2. Utopia / Sound of Drums / Last Time Lords
3. Army of Ghosts / Doomsday
4. Time Angels / Flesh Stone
5. Impossible Planet / Satan Pit
6. Pandorica Opens (but not Big Bang, unfortunately!)
7. Blink
8. Runaway Bride
9. Bad Wolf / Parting Ways
10. Silence Library / Forest Dead

1. "Human Nature"/"The Family of Blood" by Paul Cornell
2. "The Girl in the Fireplace" by Steven Moffat
3. "Vincent and the Doctor" by Richard Curtis
4. "Dalek" by Robert Sherman
5. "Father's Day" by Paul Cornell
6. "Silence in the Library"/"Forest of the Dead" by Steven Moffat
7. "Utopia"/"The Sound of Drums"/"Last of the Time Lords" by Russell T. Davies
8. "The Waters of Mars" by Phil Ford and Russell T. Davies
9. "Turn Left" by Russell T. Davies
10. "The Shakespeare Code" by Gareth Roberts & "The Eleventh Hour" by Steven Moffat (tie)

I almost put "Utopia" on mine, mostly because of Derek Jacobi. He really makes that a great episode.

1. The Ambassadors of Death
2. City of Death
3. Genesis of the Daleks
4. The Caves of Androzani
5. The Massacre
6. The Time Warrior
7. The Macra Terror
8. Human Nature
9. Aztecs
10. The Invasion

Jebus. Only ten?

The Invasion
The Time Warrior
Pyramids of Mars
Earthshock
Caves of Androzani
Remembrance of the Daleks

The Empty Child 2-parter
Human Nature 2-parter
Utopia
Vincent and the Doctor

(w/ honorable mention for The Time Meddler, Logopolis, Dalek, Bad Wolf 2-parter, School Reunion, Blink, The End of Time 2-parter, and A Christmas Carol)

7. The Macra Terror

Really? It's the Doctor saying, "Oh, this is gay!", isn't it? ;) Considering how little of the episode survived, I'm surprised to find it on anyone's list - unless you saw it when it was first broadcast, but even so, I, for one, would probably not remember much after all these years. I find it rather hard to judge the serials which now lack so much visual material.

I just saw "Ambassadors of Death" for the first time and I really did not care for it. That's one of those serials that just seemed nothing but filler.

Day's top ten, in no particular order:

Green Death
Sea Devils
Day of the Daleks
Hand of Fear
Logopolis
City of Death
Inferno
Turn Left
Empty Child/Doctor Dances

1. "The Land of Happy Endings"
2. "Voyager"
3. "The Tides of Time"
4. "The Time of My Life"
5. "The Hopes and Fears of All the Years"
6. "Father Time"
7. "The Adventuress of Henrietta Street"
8. "The Dark Path"
9. "Human Nature" (the novel, that is)
10. "The Girl in the Fireplace"
