No Star Trek TV series had included the shorthand from the main title so ST does not have place in my opininon, so ST is out of the question. That leaves us with DSC or DIS ...

You must not use DIS if you want the good of the show. You should be aware there is a real psychological process called Neurolinguistic Programming that can and will associate dissing with the show if you do that. People in show business and marketing are very aware of that stuff so I am not surprised they explicitly got out of their way to be in front of it all and call it something before others did, DSC as I heard above.

Now the question is if DSC is good. It might indeed create questions to people on why. Maybe something more "logical" in construction of the phrase is needed.

STD might be more logical as a construction but that's also a disease. Why the hell not Disc?
