I enjoyed some of the High Republic books, but I would argue that Marchion Ro was not a strong enough character to be the main antagonist of the series. Lourna Dee got a surprising amount of character development, especially during the audio dramas.

Most of the rest fell squarely into 3 star territory.
I am rereading Star Wars: Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader. The marketing and timing of this one were not great, coming hot off the heels of the magnificent Revenge of the Sith novelization and Luceno's own Labyrinth of Evil. There's not that much Vader, but the title and artwork would lead you to believe that he had a lot more page time. It is a decent enough story of a time period just after The Clone Wars, and the descriptions of how Anakin/Vader has been changed by the suit are well worth reading.
