This would be what I touched upon in my post - he used to be known informally as That Frelling Plant, the reason being that he said his nickname was a reference to a prehensile (i.e. capable of automotive action) plant in Janeway's quarters/ready room.

Jim Gamma - is this just a passing visit or do you plan to stay around for a while.
For those that don't know Jim Gamma is renowned for once causing the Trekbbs to crash, he didn't mean to though.
It is strange how some people only need to be mentioned for them to turn up after months away. I only need to mention the church of the Great Meech, and his Meechiness usually turns up within a day.

Excuse me?! I NEVER caused the BBS to crash... or at least, not that I remember.

Wasn't it you, and others, who saw some very nasty porn on the board and decided to post and post so that it wouldn't be on the front page which resulted in so much being posted that the server crashed? Or was that someone else?

We did post a lot on one occasion, before vBulletin, but I don't recall the server crashing. I believe when an admin got online and saw the mess, they closed the board down while they cleaned it up. 
Basically, someone had hacked a moderator's account, and was doing weird things with it anyway.

Oh, I just remember that I couldn't get onto Trekbbs and assumed the servers had crashed. I believe that the admin said that posting a lot was not the way to deal with porn and that might be why I assumed that you caused a crash. .
I remember the time when a whole lot of people were spamming and I kept telling people not to spam. I was in fact posting as much or more than some of the spammers were , and in the same thread, and yet I never got into trouble but others did. I felt very guilty after they all got into trouble. I knew that I was spamming by posting my non-spam warning over and over.
