And even then, I have no idea if I'll ever find a perfect controller to use with the game.![]()
Have you ever thought of making your own. All you need are some decent soldering skills, a cheap PS2 controller to disembowel, an enclosure, and a good 8-point stick and six buttons.
It's really not that hard and there are FAQs/HOWTOs galore on the subject out there.
If you want a gamepad, there's really nothing better than one of those Sega Saturn USB pads. I guess they've been selling like crazy on ebay this week. I have two and it's almost temping enough to sell one.
Honestly, I'm afraid of soldering. I ordered a new game to do a minor mod on the Hori stick that I have and hopefully that will help me out... but for the time being, I'm using the admittedly decent 360 analog stick.
The only real problem with playing on a pad is that you can't press three buttons at the same time, so you have to assign that to another button.
If I had to have a pad, my ideal pad would have the full circular motion of the 360 analog stick on the left, six face buttons and then two shoulder buttons on the right side - one for three punches and one for three kicks.
I have a MadCatz pad on order, but I have a feeling that it's not going to be the best solution either.
