So long, George

^^I always liked the late 19th/early 20th century terms for hardcore baseball fans - "cranks".

"Star Wars cranks" works pretty well for a lot of us ...

They should make a reboot of STXI in which Spock's time travel takes him back to 1994, and then he crash lands on George Lucas and thus prevents him from ruining Star Wars in the first place.

But, if he had never made the Special Editions I would wouldn't have ever been able to see A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back in theaters as I wasn't born
when they originally came out. Yes, I know its shocking that there are sci fi fans that aren't old people.

Plus they were entertaining which is what I primarily care about when I see movies or tv shows. I don't really care about continuity with the books, or some vision, or some weird purity obsession fans get butthurt over.

Now it's about wishing Lucas stopped living in 1994.

He doesn't necessarily have to stop living. Maybe he could be spirited away to a Klingon prison planet. Maybe he could be hypnotized into not making any more movies. Maybe he could be hooked up to a virtual reality device which makes him think he's out there making more movies, but really he's in a pod like in the Matrix.

There are many possibilities. Including inception.

Right. Because those ideas are not harsh responses to a movie.

Maybe he could have focused on Indiana Jones and made the fourth film much sooner.

This shows that absolutely anything other than complete unquestioning acceptance and an unwillingness to distinguish among the films based on quality is a "harsh response" to you.

Same old, same old.

:lol::lol::lol:

That's right. If one merely dislikes a movie it means one is unquestionable accepting it. In order to prove dislike, one must in fact wish Lucas had never made them, wish Lucas unending pain, or perhaps, some sort of Time Vortex.... THEN, and only THEN will others believe you don't like something.

A pretty extreme response, don't you think?

A Star Trek movie where Spock crashes on Lucas? Nah. Just unlikely to be made for various reasons, unless we're talking a low-budget Youtube version. Extremely lawsuit-worthy, perhaps. You could probably get around that by slightly changing the names. Like change Spock to "Spunk" and change Lucas to "Ca$h Money Fat A$$".

"And I only bought the Blu Ray to be ironic and make fun of it."

I can tell you this. I'm not the basher of the sort you are talking about, but considering my criticisms, I have NOT bought the Blu Rays. And as long as it is just the SEs on Blu Ray, I never will.

The other DVDs with the original cuts included are fine for me.

I don't need Vader going "NOOOOOOOOOOO!" in Hi Def.
Psssst, there are no BluRays of Episodes VII, VIII, and IX, since the movies have never been made

?

K. Didn't say there were.

The posts you quoted were talking about how everyone would rush out to see Episodes 7, 8, and 9 if they were made, and then they would hate on them after watching them repeatedly and buying the BluRay Disks

I was under the impression they were talking about the Blu Ray releases of the films to date, and the quote from Lucas' daughter about how all the fans will just snatch them up.

I don't know the sales figures, but I can tell you my dollars aren't among them.
