While not the best SF movie in my eyes, it's certainly the best of all the Star Trek movies, by far.
Wow, that is high praise, coming from someone who sees -- 100? -- new movies per year? The best SF movie of the decade so far!
"Little", heh. Didn't the largest ones have about 25-inch screens then? Some of them even had color.I've seen XI now 12 times. Also gone back to enjoying TOS, which I saw on my little 22" TV when they aired the first time way back when.
Respectfully disagree- the SECOND best, behind Serenity. But fantastic, yes. I had to have the Playmates Enterprise & everything. The best SF movie of the decade so far!
I can't wait for more myself, however, STTMP is my favourite Trek movie, and likely will be lest they pull off a true writing miracle for one of the next movies. In fact, TMP is in my top 5 sci-fi flicks of all time. That said, I liked this movie a lot - not so much as a science fiction movie, but certainly as "Star Trek."
We had one of those big color console TV's for the last two seasons. My dad was not a spendthrift, but he liked television a lot. I think moving to SoCal in 1967 might have influenced him. We got heaps of channels from L.A."Little", heh. Didn't the largest ones have about 25-inch screens then? Some of them even had color.M', thinks ours was a 19
Did you like the new Enterprise design as much as I did? When it was all said and done with, I loved it. Sure, it has it's faults, but overall I enjoyed it greatly.
I remember those console sets. Whereabouts in SoCal?We had one of those big color console TV's for the last two seasons. My dad was not a spendthrift, but he liked television a lot. In Grand Terrace, on Blue Mountain, out in the Inland Empire.I remember those console sets. Whereabouts in SoCal?
Heh, small world -- that's about 20 or 25 minutes down the hill from me, depending on traffic. My folks moved here in 1969. At one point in the late 70s, I lived in an apartment just off of Waterman Avenue near Barton Road, and used to take Reche Canyon Rd. going home from work.In Grand Terrace, on Blue Mountain, out in the Inland Empire.I remember those console sets. I'm jealous!! We had a whopping 13" black & white television. I watched my first color TV in the community room in college. Now I have a new Samsung 50" DLP!I remember those console sets. 20 miles due east, in Yucaipa.M'Sharak, holy moley! That's pretty crazy. We moved there in 1967 and moved away after I graduated in 1970 from Colton High School. So we were there when your folks moved in. (Where is that?)
Sounds like Air Force? I've been out to Hemet a couple of times in the last year or two, visiting the museum at the Western Center for Paleontology.I liked it there; we all did. It's where I became a desert rat. We moved every couple years with Dad's job. Mom and Dad retired to Hemet about 15 years later.
