So I'm taking biblical hebrew...

Dukat can also come from the Latin "ducat" which translates as "he leads" and the infinitive, "ducere", is the root of word "duke".

Which is, I believe, where the word "ducat" (=gold coin) comes from in the first place. It's originally an Italian word from the Middle Ages. Gold coins usually had the image of a monarch on them - in Italy, that would have been a duke, hence "ducat".

It was probably through the influence of the Republic of Venice (Dalmatia - the territory of today's coastal region of Croatia - used to be a part of their territory, and they had close trade and diplomatic relations with the Balkan countries) that the word spread throughout the territory of Croatia, Montenegro, and Serbia. It was commonly used, and it old folk poetry it was often used to mean "money" in general. Which is obviously where the topographic names and everything else comes from... including the dairy products corporation.

Not to be outdone by Dukat dairy products, Quark (pronounced Qvark) is a also a dairy product in German (and East European) food. It's a type of yoghurty cheese, and is actually quite nice.

Of course it's also those little sub-particles inside atoms as well.

there was an odo in harry potter... in a song that hagrid sang? lol so i looked up odo on wikipedia, and apparently, there have been a lot!

Wow, lots of French and other European royalty. Quite fitting in a way, since Rene Auberjonois is descended from European - French and Russian - aristocracy (granted, the French royalty he's descended from are the Bonapartes, but still). :)
