So I started watching "Babylon 5" for the first time.

They name an episode of Voyager after Comic Book Hitler, so of course that sort of shite is going to get stuck in our collective moral craw.

Yes, your craw is my craw, so lay the fuck back and enjoy the experience.

What the hell is up with Mr. Garibaldi? I'm believing he has one of the brain parasites, that we first saw when Sheridan went to the future and saw Londo, probably has something to do with his time as the Shadows "Guest"

Before Babylon 5, Jerry Doyle used to be a stockbroker.

As far a the method acting goes that he's got stored up for paranoid and trigger happy, this guy is still only levelling out to maybe a 6 at the moment.

Finished season 4, I'm guessing they didn't think it would make it to season 5?

Exactly. In fact, they were told on no uncertain terms that there wouldn't be because the syndication network PTEN no longer existed. TNT came to the rescue at the very last moment (actually about a month after that).

Since so much was tied off in the fourth season, it takes a while for momentum to build in season five. But it's well worth it in the end.

Yep, if they had the season five renewel notice early S4 would have ended with "Intersections in Real Time" with the Earth civil war finishing in Season 5.

Additionally, that last episode you saw with all the jumping around into the future was actually the first episode filmed for season 5.

They filmed the series finale at the end of season 4 for the above stated reasons, but when they got the 11th hour reprieve, they opted to hold that back till the end of season 5 where it should be and film a new ending to season 4.

IIRC JMS (who actually directed the finale for a change) held off editing the show until the very end, so that footage sat in the can for about a year, untouched.

[EDIT] ninja'd!

I just remember screaming at the TV... "FUCK MARS! I DON'T CARE ABOUT MARS! I WANT TO SEE IVANOVA BLOWING SHIT UP!"

Oh, and isn't President Lusheneko the sort of beautiful that you can wake up the next morning with a kidney missing, and it was still worth it?

As I'm nearing the end, I wanted to thank you guys for joining me on this ride, So far I have to say this show was vastly underrated. I'm not yet finished but this show is among my favorites...It's neat to see all the pieces falling into place that were hinted at from the first ep.

Well B5 does reward you for sticking with it, but unlike some arc based shows/serialised shows it was mapped out from the beginning rather than making it up as they went along (I'm looking at you "Lost").

You're aware that you still have Crusade and several movies?

(Some of the movies are set during the run of the serieses.)

JMS also wrote some comics personally (What happened to Sinclair in the past.) that are not that great, but the novel trilogies are good, and the stand alone stuff was written by hired guns outside in the inner circle who had no idea what was happening with the TV show as it was still being made.
