What do I do now? What am I supposed to write about? This whole thing really confuses me; I honestly have no idea what to do.

Write about yourself or whatever pops into your head or what you've done today or what you plan to do or just give some of your ideas. It's supposed to be a place where you can write about whatever you want.

Are you going to share your twitter page or is it private?

What am I supposed to write about?

The things you would have e-mailed your friends except that they'd get annoyed by so many e-mails.

In other words, things your friends would like to hear about, but when THEY want to check in on it rather than when you want to force it on them.

I gotcha. I pretty much just think up witty things to say about what is going on and post away, huh? I can do that.

And dude, that deer thing was disgusting!

The other part is finding people you want to read, following them, and responding to them from time to time!

If you don't do that you won't have fun. I've got several people to try Twitter and the only ones who keep using it are the ones who communicate with others.

Search for 'Star Trek' or some TV show you like. See who's talking about it and follow 20 of them. After a few days you'll realize you only like 5 of them and you un-follow the other 15.

Repeat until you're following 100 people you enjoy reading and talking to!

I think the whole thing is pointless. I don't care what others think about daily shit. Same with Blogs. The whole thing just bores me shitless.

pretend you are important, or that people give a shit about your moment to moment thoughts, and then just update them on needless minutia...

Thanks, mate.

Well first of all sign up for all your favorite news sources (NPR, CNN, The Onion, etc). Then, if you like, follow a few celebrities. Twitter is essentially a glorified RSS feed... eventually you may find you have friends who "microblog" --- and you'll basically pour random thoughts into updates and talk about your day (I never do this).

I use Twitter for work, mostly. You establish relationships with other writers in your field and then use those connections to share information.
