So how important is canon, then?

actual fanon, not canon (unlike my actual quotes from the actual shows). prove me wrong.

This is why I despise canon and continuity. Can’t have a pleasant discussion over it people always walk away butthurt.

How about you provide where it is stated that the only time Vulcans have sex is during Ponn Farr? I know the shows pretty well, and there isn’t.

Yes, I get to larf viewing the comments.

What the fuck does that b*tch know? She only worked with Roddenberry from the very beginning.

“One way to interpret pon farr is that Vulcans only have sex once every seven years. However, TOS writer and continuity story editor D.C. Fontana once explained that pon farr is not the only time Vulcans feel romantic attraction, sexual desire, or engage in sexual activity:"Vulcans mate normally any time they want to. However, every seven years you do the ritual, the ceremony, the whole thing. The biological urge. You must, but any other time is any other emotionhumanoid emotion – when you're in love. When you want to, you know when the urge is there, you do it. This every-seven-years business was taken too literally by too many people who don't stop and understand. We didn't mean it only every seven years. I mean, every seven years would be a little bad, and it would not explain the Vulcans of many different ages which are not seven years apart." – D.C. Fontana (Captains' Logs: The Unauthorized Complete Trek Voyages)

DC Fontana’s word isn’t good enough?
People have strong opinions here about Last Best Hope and PIC Countdown not being canon at all, having no relevance whatsoever, even though they're official tie-in stories with Una McCormack and Kirsten Beyer involved. Why then would DC Fontana have more weight concerning off-screen material?

They didn’t show Vulcans having coitus at all on TOS either during the 7 yr cycle or off. Is that the type of evidence you require?

I wonder how many palm babies there are on Vulcan in any given year as a male going through Ponn Farr doesn’t want to have yet another child support payment. :guffaw:

Never heard of them.

If Spock had kept up his teenage masturbation routine, he may have never suffered from Ponn Farr at all.

i posted spoken words from the episodes that support my position. do any of you have spoken words from any episode that support yours?

Because she was one of the original creators of the whole shooting match?
since she wrote legacy, you now have your definite borg origin story and should think it's canon ;)
