Garm Bel Iblis
Commodore
So the powers that be decided since Trip's death was dumb so they retconned it and made him a Romulan spy, fighting behind the lines in Earth's efforts to combat the might of the Romulan Empire... Really? Trip? Trip Tucker? The southern yahoo from a series that no one watched and that very few respected unitl the last couple dozen episodes?
Meanwhile Data was blown into thalaron particles in the Baeson Rift for absolutely no reason. Saving the ship? How come he couldn't have just "attached" himself to Picard's transporter beam ala Gilian Taylor in STIV?
Data was the Spock of the TNG series, the most popular character. And he wasn't brought back the way the filmakers intended by creating B4 and doing the memory transfer int he first place! Data's in there and I want him back in the novels, not the fanwank Countdown Series of comics!
The fact that Data's dead and Trip's alive is very aggravating, considering how much change the Enterprise-E has gone through since Nemesis. It should not have been this way. Data should have been XO and Worf should have gone with the Titan, not using that dope Vale whom i cannot stand. Worf as Riker's Number One would have brought a fresh air to a stale command crew that encompasses Titan and it's "Great Decker Experiment."
