SMALLVILLE Winter Hiatus Thread *Spoilers!*

Honestly, as to what I'm going to do with that extra space in my bowels is that it just means I won't have to go to the toilet as often.

Doomsday returning for 3 episodes

Smallville Exec. Producer Kelly Souders confirmed that Dario Delacio, who played Doomsday's monster version in season 8, will return to portray the ultimate destroyer for 3 episodes in season 10, including Geoff John's episode, "Booster".

Producer Kelly Souders has confirmed that Dario Delacio is returning to play a certain 7 ft tall monster on Smallville, but it isn't Darkseid
EW.com have had Smallville producer Kelly Souders confirms Dario Delacio is returning:

It's always great fun watching costumes being put on people for hour. But this season's villian will have a little bit more CGI involved. But one guy who has worked on the show before in costume is returning, none other then the beefed up Dario Delacio has signed on for three episodes. But he won't be playing Darkseid. He'll be playing a role he's more familiar with. I am sure it won't disappoint either with Geoff Johns writing

Say wuh?

And not Witwer? Too bad. I actually kind of liked him and thought he got a bad rap--he certainly played his part better than given credit for, considering the writing and all.

I'm wondering if this story is true now. The article says it came from the Entertainment Weekly website but I went there and can't find any mention of Doomsday there. This may be bogus.

The Doomsday story is false:

Actually Craig was a little more pointed in his responses:

"Yeah, the Doomsday thing is phony."

And when asked how such rumors get started, Craig said:

"Same way a lot of "rumors" get started... people think they're cool by posting a "scoop" that they made up entirely, then people around the internet go and link to it, bringing in traffic. That's a big reason I don't allow links to "unofficial" sources here, because unless it's Zap2It, TVLine, IGN, EW, E!, or a legitimate source... it's likely fake. And although that Doomsday "news" referenced an EW interview, the interview does not actually exist."

If Chloe comes back as Fate.... SHE CAN FLY!

"C'mon Clark you can do it. It's easy if you just try. Like this! WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

I didn't see this posted before but it seems we have an update on the Mike return front and it doesn't seem like good news at all...took this from Smallville wiki and the quote from Mike is from his twitter page.

Although Michael Ausiello says producers are "cautiously optimistic" about a Michael Rosenbaum return for Smallville's finale, the man himself has said on Twitter that there haven't been any discussions lately. "Honestly don't know where people get their information from, but i haven't discussed Smallville with Producers or anyone in quite some time."

I give it another month or so before we know for sure if Mike will be returning or not. I am gonna go out on a limb and predict that he'll not be back.

The producers (dorks) must be relying on Karmic Synergy.

They think if they starve Mike out, that either he will come to them or even that he will just crash the final days of shooting.

"Michael, there's no dialogue for you and the final has nothing to do with Lex Luthor."

"Look Kelly, we can play this two ways, I run around screaming nonsensically with... Sorry, "my character" runs around screaming nonsensically with a machine gun covered in blood mowing down smallvillians or you let me loose in front of a greenscreen for 5 minutes with some fanfiction I lifted from the internet about how "I've" always been really really supergay for Clark."

From Super Douche to Brandon Routh.

;)

Either Welling has been busy for the past 2 years or he doesn't like doing promotion shots.

How come that looks more like Welling than Clark?

I know there's very little difference, but one is a movie star (cough!) and the other works for a living.

^ I agree with you Guy there is no difference in this second poster than the first expect now there is a shadow rather than a reflection. This actually reminds me of the Phantom Menace teaser poster...and why the Rao must Clark be causally have his hands in his pockets? I swear this is like the ultimate caption for the entire series... "Hands in my pockets..." makes him look like the total douche he is.

Except that the Phantom Menace poster was cool.

A decision which was the truth well before we knew how bad the movie sucked.

I never got into Smallville until recently, despite being a big fan of the Superman Franchise...

Although I haven't seen many episode from the later season (8, 9 and 10) I'm up to scratch on the kind of things that are happening on the show. It seems to me that in Season 10 they are desperate to pull something out of the hat for the finale, obviously the finale scenes will depict Clark fully embracing his Kryptonian heritage and donning the Superman Costume, but the events that are leading to this seem kinda vague, below are some points that really need some attention

*Darkseid is meant to be the villian of the season, however there hasn't really been that much "colour" in the writing of this character

*Producers, Writers and Fans all want Lex Luthor to return, while Michael Rosenbaum insists he's "done with the show", it would be a massive let down for Lex Luthor to be absent from the series finale

*The Clark/Lois relationship, while recieving a significant amount of focus, hasn't really improved in terms of "Storytelling", its no where near as intriguing as it was in Season 9

*The "Big Thing" in the finale shouldn't be Clark Flying, this should happen prior to it, in order to create a "Well Clark can Fly, he's got the Superman costume, what can they possibily do for the Finale?" situation

What does everyone else think? And does anyone have any suggestions or predictions of what route they will/should go down in the final set of episodes?

Hands in his pockets is as close as you can get to the classic fists on hips of the classic Superman pose. He would look really dumb with his hands out on his hips in that shot.
