Didn't see that NX had started this thread, so...

From TV.com:
The Toyman seeks revenge on Oliver. Clark is gifted the power to hear people's thoughts as part of his training by his father.

I can't wait...I am thinking it will be good, I am hoping for excellent. The first 3 episodes this season have been ok.

I'll give it an above average. Clark using his telepathy was good and it's always nice to see him actually being pro-active and smart. Oliver's storyline continues and I liked the end scenes with Oliver thinking he saw Lex and the Tess/Toyman stuff.

Toyman's still a fun villain.

That was a pretty good episode. I liked how they played the "What Lois Wants" angle with Clark -which, by the way Jor-El I think that's a feature Clark needs, it's kind of mean of you to take it away from him in his next patch update.

The Lois/Clark relationship was very nicely handled this time but Clark ditching Lois on their date kind-of reeks too much of the BS he pulled with Lana earlier in the series.

Good episode, I'm going with Excelent on it and, yeah, the Toyman is a fun villian and it was nice use of him even if he's channeling a bit too much Joker/The Riddler.

Jor-El ought to consider giving Clark telepathy on a permanent basis. It made him a lot smarter and more pro-active.

Definitely an above average episode. Nice characterization building, especially with Oliver and Clark. I liked the telepathy, too, as a way to hone his Kryptonian intuition, but not sure if it would be a good thing storywise in the long run. It'd kill the suspense of any story with Clark around.

Well Wolvermouse, I tend to agree with you on this episode it was excellent IMO the idea of Ka-El gaining a new power if not abett a temporary one helps the storyline move forward.
As to Oliver falling off the wagon and almost completely shut down his life I think is a way for the writers to ground the character in realism, how many fictional characters do you know have flaws that have a basis in real life.

Let us hope flying is not too far away in terms of time for him to learn quickly, and master by the time he encounters Zod and his army.

Also looking forward to Jor-El really making appearance in November, however that might be short lived since Lara did not survive the episode that she also appeared in.

That's my thoughts

Next week's episode is going to be good I hope.

Signed

Lois was looking nice. And Tess, oh, so sexy with the compassion one second, ruthless psycho bitch the next.

Doormat Sullivan didn't muck things up too much. Can't we replace her with Mr. Gaeta? ;)

NEXT WEEK WE RIP-OFF A MICHAEL DOUGLAS MOVIE. You GAME for it?

Zod, who gives a crap about that shit? Wait for the last two episodes of the seasons, until then the only Callum Blue you'll see is on a sample card at Sherwin Williams.

I thought it was good. Lois pulling up in a monster truck always good.

I gave it a good rating. I wished there was more development of the Toyman. The whole ESP thing was so short-lived that it didn't even need to be there. There are at least two partially developed episodes in this one.

Toyman could have really built more tension over a whole episode - I really did like that story, though, so it bumped up the rating a bit for me.

I guess I'm in the minority, because I thought this was BAD. Not to say it was irredeemable, there were a few good moments such as Clark and Oliver's last scene. But I just ended up bashing my head against the wall throughout most of the ep out of frustration with it.

I wonder if the turn-out to this thread is a microcosm of the show. It really hasn't been doing well.

Though, it was a significantly better episode than last week's.

Wow, not only can Kryptonian technology transform you from Human to Kryptonian and back on a whim, but it can give you completely new abilities with a built-in AI that automagically knows when to trigger! Amazing!

Here's to hoping we get Rebuild-the-Great-Wall-Vision and Giant-Celephone-Shield powers soon!

Fucking embarrassing show.

I think a lot of people are giving up on Smallville - I can't say that I blame them.

I thought that Zod would be more of a presense - Obviously, he's just a name in the credits now.

Apparently this episode had the highest ratings of the season. Go figure.

But I'm still not sold on her being a "good" reporter. She's Fox News crap one day and Clark's mentor the next?
Yeah, it just boggles the mind how this show treats reporting some times. Take that last Clois scene. A billionaire is nearly blown up a couple blocks away from the paper, and Clark can't hand in a report in time when he was right there, so the DP misses out on a huge scoop, yet he's going up to Lois with a single A4 page the next day like he's asking her to help him with his school book report.

This isn't the freaking Torch Clark!
