I get the feeling there won't be a "Superman" in the Smallville universe..but just Clark doing his thing in secret..though with much more powers in the future.

1- Excellent episode.

2- I REALLY liked Chole getting all up in Clark's face. He takes her for granted so often she needs to do it more.

3- I liked Bloom and Clark getting into it. Good tense stuff there.

4- I also like MM getting in Clark's face about how he is handling himself.

5- Jimmy still anoys the hell out of me.

6- With Lana being gone the new hottest woman on the show is the sidekick for Tess that was in the cell at the end and other scenes earlier in the season. Smokin hot!!

I thought this was a really good episode. I honestly thought that Davis was going to be the killer up until the reveal. This one had alot of good scenes with Clark and Chloe. I really liked what they did with the Martian Manhunter tonight, I hope they start to do more with him now. I've really liked him since they first inroduced him, and I keep hoping that maybe he'll become a regular eventually.

I finally got a chance to play the Doomsday character on The Force Unleashed. The actor is the model for the Sith guy. That game kicks ass. It is so much fun tossing wookies and stormtroopers into the air.

I was hoping for a fight between Doomsday and Clark, but I guess they've got to drag it out for the season.

^ Yeah, I have a feeling that we won't be getting that until the season finale.

^ I agree. I can see the season finale being a take on the Superman/Doomsday fight from Superman #75. Of course, that'll only work if we get a 9th season. Now my question is this... Who would be coddling a beaten Clark? Chloe or Lois? :vulcan:

Anyhoo, it was a good episode, so I gave it a good grade. It was nice to see them deal with the Doomsday issue. I actually forgot about it. And no Tess this week? How many episodes is Cassidy Freeman contracted for? I thought she'd be in all the episodes. As for the tribute to Clark leaping tall buildings in a single bound... good catch. I didn't think of that when I saw the scene.

No that was a bonafide flight...and when did he jump that high before that didnt turn out to be a dream or him being possessed by something? This is the first time he actually did a genuine fight himself...
He ran and jumped after the rocket a few seasons ago.

At this point, I say Lois. Why not?

In fact, I'm almost to the point where I'm hoping for a Clark/Lois 'ship. Welling and Durance have shown good chemistry and it's not as if Smallville is in danger of ruining its credibility or anything.

The only two contracted for all episodes are Tom Welling and Allison Mack. The others are at the minimum regular contracts (13 episodes).

It was good, but I think they should have added Martian Manhunter on as a regular and given Green Arrow his own show, because it doesn't seem like he (Green Arrow) can really do much on this show other than make guest appearances.

It sure seems to me that they are setting up a Lois and Clark relationship. I don't know about anybody else, but I pretty much assumed it was gonna happen eventually when the brought her on the show.

I'm not sure about now but when they first brough Green Arrow in two years ago CW/WB specifically told them there will be no Green Arrow spinoff so not to even try.

It would be a lot smarter to go with a Green Arrow spinoff than that stupid Graysons spinoff they're planning.

I've thought along similar lines. Had they stuck to an original 5 seasons, Smallville could ahve worked as a "prequel" but it's pretty clearly entered "re-interpretation" territory (which is fine by me). Some people are saying that how could Lois not recognize clark and superman in the future... I think THIS entire period that we're seeing now, him sneaking off to be Metropolis' secret hero, people trying to investigate the mysterious Superman who nobody's seen who saves everyone, is basically the re-invention/re-interpretation of that Lois/Clark/Superman dynamic.

You also saw Davis glowing green in his shower scene. Subtle nuances are Smallville's trademark of course, so clearly that's a red herring. He's not going to be just another meteor freak. Not at all.

Regardless, what's the point of introducing a character like Doomsday anyway? The driving goal for introducing him in the comics was to give Superman a severe and brutal beatdown against an opponent he had no hope of surviving, which is very significant because he was pretty much undefeatable up until that point. In Smallville, Clark's a pussy. A should-be mental patient with a hard-on for truth detectors took his ass down for Christ's sake. Clark is not even close to being Superman, let alone the Superman of the comics where Doomsday was needed.
