Skipping episodes

I don't ever skip episodes, because I never watch them in order to begin with.
Sounds like a paradox are you skipping if you aren't going linear to begin with? ^_^ I hop around all the time. I have only watched it straight through 7 years ago and now I'm 1/3 of the way into a rewatch.

I guess I'm not being entirely honest. I do avoid episodes. I avoid the ones I've seen too many times, and watch the ones I haven't. I'm sure it come out even in the end, or at some point along the way.

That concept rattles me, lol.
Sometimes I read books(like chapters of a novel) out of order as well. I don't know why. Sometimes they get boring, and you have to skip ahead, then you run out of book, and have to go back. Or if I've read the book before, start at an interesting part, then skip around eliminating the lesser interesting parts, saving the least interesting for last :sigh:

Admittedly, this is why I have been putting off the Voyager novels. It reads so slow and technical than just watching it on TV waiting for interesting dialog. I like reading but I get tired or bored easily with wordy books and voyager books appear technical as they should but that bores me. I am more interested in the interpersonal relationships than sci fI strategy.

I think you would like the new novels. They have a lot of the character building and interpersonal relationships you mentioned. Kristen Beyer has done a great job.

thanks for clarifying this. Good to know :techman: Oh , fantastic. Our library has a couple.

On the topic of skips, I wanted to mention, since talking with Sophie, I have a renewed appreciation for Belanna. I don't skip any except one episode (I skip Blood Fever. I hide my face when Chak and Tuvok go off into the bushes while those two sort it out  )

 so juvenile I know. But it's cringy to me! Not hot. And those aliens...interesting. They take an evolutionary approach but can't the Borg scan? See...I haven't seen it in so long they probably explain how they avoid detection. Wasn't it about hiding their progress so the Borg wouldn't be attracted to them again? Because we all know, looking like stone isn't going to help you.

Yes!!!!!! Haha

I NEVER skip Blood Fever ;)

I just discovered a podcast called Women at Warp. They have a great episode discussing her

I will have to listen to that. I like insightful conversation.
That's the only episode I've listened tonso far, just found it the other day but I really enjoyed it

I got frustrated with another big voyager podcast becauae they often got little facts about episodes wrong

I love Blood Fever though. It's one of my fav eps of the third season... but can't say I'm a real fan of Vorik.

They voyager people couldn't detect them. They were shising their lifesigns

Yeah i never liked him. Though inthink3it was a nice touch where in a previous episode he's already showing interest in B'elanna
Hey, I'll take continuity where I can get it! Which I suppose negates why I said I'd skip an episode just because. If there's continuity in it, such as Blood Fever, it should be on my list!

There is a little, further setting up tom and belanna, and hinting that the Borg were near. In terms of overall plot you're not missing anything crucial if you skip it

I remember watching the first airing. Awkward in front of parents, btw. When the final scene played out I had NO clue who the Borg were. I didn't even catch the whole premise of the episode because of this lack of information. So of course I just remember the Tom/B parts.
I watched TNG but not in absolute dedication. I didn't understand all the dun, dun, dun and swell of the music. Mom: "it's the borg" Didn't shed any light on it either.
Then we saw First Contact. Mom really need to work on setting up an expectation because I was in Lilly's perspective. Scared. ha! Which I suppose added to the horror (And the disappointment that followed later)
