The plant is gigantic, but the size of the space where the filming was done?Has anyone thought of finding out how big the “industrial location” was that was used for the brewery (apologies if that's already come up)? If anyone could find floorplans or something that would probably give us a fairly definitive size of the engineering hull, and would no doubt give us a size inconsistent with either the bridge or the shuttlebay ;-)
That article has been linked in this thread before, and the ILM figures for the Enterprise and Narada have been given elsewhere prevoiusly. It remains to be seen whether these match the "official" dimensions, but some here are skeptical, to say the least. Not sure if this was brought up anywhere else in the thread (I've not read thru the whole thing), but according to this article, it's 2357ft according to ILM. That's a little over 718m.

It still doesn't seem right considering the size of the airlocks. If someone could just take the E-A and E-JJ and scale them so that the airlocks are the same size, that should give a fairly accurate indication.

Exactly. They are only bound to the longest linear distance we can see on screen, and from what I recall that is far less than any of the numbers being bandied about here.
Just noticed this (has anyone else): The docking ports on the Kelvin look to be of almost identical design and size. Taking that reference, looks to me that the NuEnterprise would be significantly smaller than the 2,357ft.
I'm still estimating around 1,500ft (with a +/-50ft tolerance)

Ehhh.... I don't get it - how exactly is the flight path blocked?
(The dark strip in the center that looks like a girder is just an extension of the dark bay "mid-strip" that goes all the way out to the edge - it just looks darker further in)
Has nitpicking really devolved to this level?Nitpick about stuff that doesn't make sense... not this. Idiots.

Yeah, but further down somebody says that the girders and the upper row of shuttles are gone when Pike flies out. Gotta go see, if that's true it's a real gaff... which we can use to beat ILM over the head until we get the length we want!I thought THIS was funny! http://drexfiles.wordpress.com/2009/05/28/help-me-to-understand/![]()

Enterprise doesn't have the same docking port design as the Kelvin OR the TMP ship. They are actually more reminiscent of the ports on NX-01, with an outer docking ring somewhat wider than the actual hatch.
