The question of whether it's a reboot is neither here nor there. What matters is the intrinsic quality of the movie itself.

I think we can safely call it. The myth that posting this poll in the Abrams Trek forum skewed the result: Totally confirmed.

Yes, they are entertaining.

Fat chicks?

What on Earth are you on about?

He was obviously answering the question asked in the poll. It has nothing to do with your sexist remark about "Fat Chicks".

I have repeatedly asked you stop with the spammy, argumentative, off-topic posts. This time you've earned an infraction. Comments to PM.

Maybe he is referencing the Sir Mix-A-Lot song "I Like Big Butts" which includes this lyric -

I like big butts [a play on the word 'reboots'?] and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny

What you should have done was post the poll here without any reference at all to the poll in the other forum and you would have gotten "non-skewed" results...but since you let the cat out of the bag, the results here will also be "somewhat" skewed.

Thanks for sharing.

Nope. Thought they were very disposable like the Transformers movies.

Or Star Treks 3, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10.

Yes, they are entertaining.

Fat chicks?

Sorry to interrupt GTD Mods, but sport, I'm getting real fucking sick and tired of seeing your name involved when it comes to crap posts like this.

Settle it down or I will remove you. Drop down off of my radar, pronto. Make it so I don't remember your name.

Over and out.

Nope.

The only thing I can honestly say I like 100% was the casting of Karl Urban--shame they do nothing with him.

I am so surprised the poll is winning with "yes". I myself love them. I am 41 grew up with both Trek and Star Wars. I feel the new movies helped introduce Star Trek to a new generation which in return will want to watch the older shows and movies. So thumbs up!

I like it when I reboot my computer. Ah, that sense of starting out fresh. :)

In a word: Yes. These new movies are watchable by a new generation. Although I love the old Treks, if it doesn't evolve and stay current with the times, Trek dies. It's that simple. Then you'll look silly talking about an old show they're never heard of in the same way my mom speaks gibberish about 50s Gene Autry shows that I've never heard of.

Overall. I like them a lot. There are certain things about them that I DON'T like, but you could say that regarding just about any incarnation of Star Trek since TOS. I don't allow some irritations or imperfections drive my overall opinion on something (If I did, I'd hate just about everything).

They are fun, thoughtful, well-cast "big excitement" events. I enjoy them from that perspective. I will continue to do so, hopefully, with #3!

Nope.

The only thing I can honestly say I like 100% was the casting of Karl Urban--shame they do nothing with him.

I agree, Urban was great, everything else,... no.

Personally I think that the reboots are better than the alternative, IE nothing.

I disagree, not with you personally, I'm happy you liked them better than nothing.

I did not, however.

Also, I never go into the Abrams movie Forum, so I would not have voted if it wasn't here, Dennis. Not that my vote counts, but I just wanted to let you know at least 1 vote was affected by the placement.

Voted Yes-
They are fun to watch and well made. They look great on the big screen, one of the rare times I visit the cinema instead of just waiting for the DVD is because of films like these.

I like Star Trek (2009).

I love Star Trek Into Darkness (2013).

So, yes.

Basically how I feel as well. Eric Bana's Nero being a mostly uninteresting villain is the biggest problem I have with the first one, which I felt Khan and Admiral Marcus did a good job of rectifying for the sequel.

Agree. :vulcan:

Yes, I like well made reboots.
